Massachusetts Bride Happily Announces Wedding Only To Be Bombarded With Hate By Her Own Family: ‘Trust Your Gut’

What’s supposed to be one of the happiest moments in someone’s life has turned into something straight out of a psychological thriller for one Massachusetts bride. A Boston woman, known on TikTok as @chronicallygirl, opened up about why she’s now planning to have security at her wedding.

According to the Massachusetts creator, whose name is Scarlet, things with her family have been strained for a while. We’re talking full no-contact, blocked on everything, no communication, total separation. Scarlet says her estranged family has continued to watch her from a distance, creating fake accounts to keep tabs on her social media.

And because she had originally invited them to her wedding before cutting ties, they already had insight into her plans. Things really escalated after she shared a happy milestone: legally marrying her partner in the U.S. before their destination wedding. It should have been a moment of celebration, something small but meaningful. Instead, it triggered what sounds like a coordinated wave of harassment.

Massachusetts Bride’s Wedding Is Becoming A Nightmare Due To Her Family

She described being flooded with messages from multiple fake accounts, all targeting her and her husband. And then came the part that pushed this from “toxic” into genuinely unsettling territory, such as “creepy AI images of us with lines through our faces.”

Scarlet made it clear she didn’t want to give them the satisfaction of seeing her react, explaining she didn’t want to feed their “ego.” But at the same time, she recognized exactly what they were trying to do, which was “take away some beauty from getting married” and make her feel “scared and paranoid.”

What makes this situation even more complicated is her belief that her younger brother may be involved. While she doesn’t think her mom has the technical skills to pull off fake accounts and AI-generated images on her own, she suspects her “golden child” sibling could be helping behind the scenes. That realization alone is enough to shake anyone.

The behavior hasn’t exactly been consistent either. Scarlet described a cycle that feels emotionally exhausting, periods of calm followed by threats, then sudden “nice” messages, only to swing back into anger again. Add in public social media posts, voicemails, and emails, and it becomes this overwhelming pattern of chaos that’s impossible to ignore.

The Internet Wants Her To Protect Herself

At first, she thought she could handle it by sticking to her boundaries. Block, ignore, move on. Simple in theory, right? But as things escalated and especially as her husband became a target, that approach started to feel less realistic.

The idea of her mom showing up at the wedding once felt far-fetched. But with everything that’s unfolded, it no longer seems impossible. In fact, Scarlet admitted the thought of her traveling and causing a scene now feels “scarier and more realistic” than she ever expected.

“Trust your gut,” one person wrote in the comment section. “Security is a great choice,” added another. “Don’t post in real time,” suggested a third person. “Contact the police,” a fourth comment read.

Sadly, Instead of focusing on flowers, vows, and celebrating love, this Massachusetts bride is having to think about safety, security, and worst-case scenarios. Friends have even sent her screenshots of her mom’s online rants, which only adds to the anxiety and reinforces her concern that things could escalate further.
