TMZ was the first to report that Pressly was staying at the hotel days before she was scheduled to appear at the GalaxyCon. However, just days before her scheduled appearance, an unusual incident took place between Jaime and another guest that resulted in Pressly being asked to vacate the premises.

According to TMZ’s sources, witnesses at the hotel allege that Jaime Pressly appeared under the influence and was dealing with a personal family phone call when the encounter took place. The details appear completely unclear, but per the witnesses, Pressly was exhibiting erratic behavior and swearing loudly before reportedly putting her hands on a female guest’s arm, unwantedly.
Following complaints from several hotel guests, she was asked to leave the Signia by Hilton San Jose by two on-duty security guards multiple times.
Family Issues Behind Hotel Drama
Sources on site claim that Jaime Pressly was overheard on the phone appearing to be dealing with family issues. They say she was overheard seemingly speaking with her children, saying, “Mommy loves you,” before telling her ex and father of her twin sons, entertainment lawyer Simran Singh, “You are the best husband I have ever divorced and you are good to our kids.”
Following her emotional phone call, Jaime then approached the female guest, touched her arm, and complained about the security guards. This did not go over well with the annoyed guest, who immediately sought out security.
Page Six adds the actress is said to have received another phone call before a guard eventually stepped in and told her, “We’re done.” She then left the building for ten minutes to step outside to smoke, returning hand in hand with a valet employee and heading to the bar, ordering another drink before security escorted her out of the building again, and cancelling her GalaxyCon appearance.
Hotel Encounter Could Have Led to Criminal Charges
Luckily for Jaime Pressly, the incident appears to have been treated as a civil property disruption instead of a criminal battery offense. According to the California Penal Code Section 242, things could have ended much worse legally for the actress.
Simple battery is defined as any willful and unlawful use of force or violence upon another person. The Law Offices of Ann Gottsman state that in California, the legal definition of “force” does not require actual physical harm, pain, or visible bruising. Any unwanted, nonconsensual physical contact qualifies if it is done in an offensive manner.
While GalaxyCon fans are disappointed by Jaime Pressly’s cancellation, it appears as if the actress may have learned a necessary lesson to avoid legal issues in the future.
