A former elementary school principal in Florida is now dealing with the consequences of what authorities say was a massive house party involving alcohol, drugs, and more than 100 underage teens. What makes the story especially unsettling isn’t just the size of the party it’s who allegedly hosted it.

The incident unfolded in Florida’s Cocoa Beach area back in January 2025, when police were called to a home after neighbors reported a loud gathering that appeared to involve minors drinking and using drugs. When officers arrived, the scene was already alarming.

A teenage boy was found shaking uncontrollably and vomiting on the front lawn and was later taken to a hospital. As police began to assess the situation, they realized the home belonged to Elizabeth Hill-Bordigan, the principal of Roosevelt Elementary School, per PEOPLE.

Florida Principal’s House Party Included 100 Underage Teens

According to reports, the house was packed with juveniles ranging in age from 13 to 17. More than 100 teens were allegedly inside or around the property at the time police arrived. In the days that followed, investigators spoke with numerous minors and parents as they worked to piece together exactly how such a large gathering spiraled so far out of control under the roof of a school administrator.

Hill-Bordigan, 48, was initially charged with several offenses, including child neglect, contributing to the delinquency of minors, and hosting an open house party. While the felony child neglect charge one that could have resulted in prison time, was later dropped, the remaining charges still carried serious consequences. She ultimately entered a no-contest plea to one misdemeanor count related to hosting the party and two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of minors.

The outcome? A two-year probationary sentence and strict conditions. Hill-Bordigan is barred from having unsupervised contact with minors and is prohibited from hosting gatherings where underage individuals are present. Unsurprisingly, she was also fired from her position as principal, effectively ending her career in education. Many were shocked that she escaped jail time for her actions.

The scandal didn’t stop with her. Another educator, Karly Anderson, a fellow teacher who was also at the party, faced legal trouble as well. Body camera footage released from the night shows Anderson angrily confronting officers as they placed a student into an ambulance following a suspected alcohol-related incident.

No Jail Time For The Former Educator

At one point, she demanded police remove the teen from what she called the “machine.” Officers pushed back, noting that there were hundreds of kids drinking and that Anderson herself appeared intoxicated. She famously replied, “I’m not drunk.”

Anderson was later sentenced to probation too, though she has attempted to appeal the decision. A judge ultimately denied her request, and she was also terminated from her teaching job.

“How does this happen?” one person asked via X. “This is just crazy,” said another. “Why’s it always Florida?” a third comment read.

The entire situation has sparked outrage and disbelief, particularly among parents who trusted these educators with their children’s safety. In Florida, where debates about school responsibility and student welfare are already heated, this case struck a nerve. At the end of the day, it’s a sobering reminder that authority figures are held to a higher standard and when that trust is broken, the fallout can be swift and unforgiving.
