Prince Harry might be reaching out, but the royal family isn’t biting, and honestly, it’s not surprising that Prince William, King Charles, and the rest of the royals aren’t rushing to reunite with Harry after all of the bad blood that’s occurred in recent years.
Prince Harry reportedly extended an invitation to King Charles and Prince William to attend the Invictus Games in Birmingham, hoping for a public reunion that could have been both symbolic and healing. But royal insiders are shutting that idea down fast, saying the whole thing feels more like a publicity play than a genuine peace offering.
“Looks like an olive branch,” one palace aide told Shuter Scoop, “but feels like bait.”
If you were hoping to see the Fab Three share a stage again, don’t hold your breath. The palace has apparently decided to use Queen Camilla’s 80th birthday celebrations, which happen to fall during the Invictus Games, as a reason to decline. Convenient? Sure. But also, probably exactly what they were looking for.
Prince Harry Rejected By Royal Family Yet Again
http://gty.im/1060898046And honestly, can anyone blame them for being skeptical? Ever since Harry and Meghan stepped away from royal duties and lit the monarchy on fire with that now-iconic Oprah interview, trust between them and the rest of the Firm has been basically non-existent. Add in Harry’s memoir Spare, a slew of press interviews, and the couple’s Netflix deal, and the palace has every reason to assume there’s always a camera nearby.
“There’s no appetite for another headline-making reunion,” a source explained. “Harry’s had plenty of platforms. Why would this be different?”
That’s the million-pound question, isn’t it? From a royal PR perspective, this invitation might look more like a trapdoor than a red carpet. It doesn’t help that Meghan’s attendance is still uncertain, and Harry’s ongoing demands for police protection in the UK remain unresolved. That’s a logistical and political nightmare no one in the palace seems eager to solve.
Prince William and King Charles Don’t Trust Harry
One insider summed up the mood pretty bluntly. “The family feels burned. This isn’t peace — it’s PR.”
That statement says it all. While the Duke of Sussex may be extending an invitation with the hope of reconciliation, the royal family sees it as yet another chance to get blindsided by a viral documentary.
So, what’s next for the Invictus Games and Prince Harry’s campaign for healing old wounds? It’s unclear. But for now, it looks like the only royal reunion we’ll be seeing is in reruns of The Crown.
