It’s the Hollywood-meets-Calabasas relationship that no one saw coming. Timothee Chalamet, indie film darling and Oscar-nominated actor, is dating none other than Kylie Jenner, beauty mogul and reality TV royalty. But while the romance itself has tongues wagging, it’s how Chalamet is handling the Kardashian machine that’s raising eyebrows and apparently ruffling a few feathers.
According to insiders, Timothee Chalamet is walking a very fine line and doing it intentionally. While his romance with Kylie Jenner is heating up, the Dune star is keeping a firm (and calculated) distance from the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. And guess what? The family is not loving it, per Radar Online.
“Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian can’t understand why he’s so antisocial and downright snobby towards them,” a source spilled. “They’ve extended endless invites to family gatherings, fancy restaurants and weekends away in Palm Springs.”
Timothee Chalamet Doesn’t Want To End Up Another Kardashian Horror Story
But despite those invites, Chalamet is politely (and strategically) dodging deeper entanglement with the famous family. Yes, he’ll occasionally show up at Kris’s gatherings, but let’s be real, he’s not exactly settling in for a long visit.
“Once in a while Timmy obliges but he’s rarely there longer than an hour, and any time he can find an excuse to bail, he does,” the source noted.
And it’s not just because he’s an introvert. Timothee seems very aware of the Kardashian effect — particularly on the men who get sucked into the family’s world. He’s seen the cautionary tales: Caitlyn Jenner, Kanye West, Lamar Odom… the list goes on. And according to insiders, he’s not interested in becoming another name added to the “Kardashian Exes Who Crashed and Burned” list.
“He’ll be damned if that’s his path,” the insider said.
Timmy’s Got A Plan
While the Kardashians may see him as aloof or even snobby, Chalamet’s reluctance to jump into their media circus may actually be the smartest move of his career. He’s a serious actor, with critical acclaim and a reputation for choosing art over hype. The last thing he needs is to become a meme on TikTok for awkwardly appearing in a Kardashians confessional.
And to be fair, it’s not like he’s throwing shade at Kylie. Quite the opposite, actually. “The guy knows what he’s doing,” said the source. “He’s getting a ton of free PR by dating Kylie and she’s giving him the sex of his life.”
There’s also one exception to his Kardashian boundary-setting: Kendall Jenner. Since she’s closer in age and a bit more low-key compared to the rest of the family, Chalamet and Kylie will occasionally hang out with her, but don’t expect to see him bro-ing out with Scott Disick or tagging along on a Turks and Caicos family vacation anytime soon.
“Timmy appreciates that Kylie’s family is trying to get to know him, but he’s wise enough to be aware that they almost certainly have ulterior motives, like getting him onto The Kardashians and using his name and connections for networking purposes.”
