The Scooby gang needs to get down to Alabama quickly, because a member of their beloved group was impersonated to commit robbery in Tuscaloosa.
In a bizarre twist on your everyday run-of-the-mill robbery, a man in Alabama decided to spice things up a bit by donning a Scooby-Doo costume to carry out his crime. While original Scooby may be known for chasing ghosts, unmasking bad guys, and being bribed with Scooby snacks, the imposter skipped straight to the cash.
According to Patch, the Tuscaloosa Police Department reported that the costumed crook broke into the Quick Stop on Highway 82 in Duncanville at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday morning. The break-in triggered the store’s alarm system, and police arrived to find that the man had stolen nothing but cash and coins.

In photos, the man is seen standing in a Scooby-Doo onesie with a hood. He also wore a ski mask to shield his face from the cameras. The department revealed that the suspect appears to be a white male, around 5’9”, but his identity is still unknown. So, the police are hoping that the public can be helpful in tracking down the culprit.
Of course, online news mongers had a field day in the comments section on Reddit.
“Ruh-Roh,” one person posted.
“Rubbary. Guessing food prices are getting too high, even for the duo with the constant case of the munchies. lol” said another.
“Zoinks,” a third Scooby-Doo fan stated.
“He would have gotten away with it if it weren’t for those meddling kids!” a fourth comment read.
The Police Need Help
Of course, this situation is no laughing matter for the store owners. Break-ins like this can result in thousands of dollars in damages and stolen goods, not to mention the unnerving feeling of being targeted in the middle of the night.
The man needs to be found and brought to justice, as he may decide to attempt another robbery, and who knows what beloved cartoon character’s name he could sully with his crime spree next. Mickey Mouse? Fred Flintstone? SpongeBob SquarePants? Or another member of the Scooby Gang? Justice must be served.
