The families started referring to the stalker simply as “Restricted,” the name that appeared whenever the calls came through. Their cell phones powered on without being touched. Ringtones changed on their own.
Threats Grow as the Caller Tracks Their Every Move
Threats came day and night. Sometimes targeting kids, sometimes pets, sometimes elderly relatives. Some messages sounded childish, while others were terrifyingly detailed.
Police were baffled. Phone companies insisted nothing like this should be possible. But tech experts confirmed remote control of a device can happen, allowing someone to track a phone, activate cameras, or listen in without the owner’s knowledge.
