Texas Police Refuse To Investigate Marine Accused Of Spiking Pregnant Woman’s Drink With Abortion Pills: ‘Monstrosity Of A Situation’

Only in Texas could a story this jaw-dropping unfold and somehow not be under investigation. A Corpus Christi woman says her worst nightmare came true when a man she knew, a U.S. Marine, no less, allegedly spiked her hot chocolate with enough abortion pills to end her pregnancy. According to her, local police aren’t even looking into it.

The woman, Liana Davis, claims that Christopher Cooprider, a Marine stationed in Texas, secretly dissolved at least ten abortion pills into cocoa he made for her on April 5. Within half an hour, she was bleeding so badly she feared she wouldn’t make it to the hospital. But instead of rushing to help, Cooprider allegedly vanished, per NBC News.

The backstory reads like a toxic text message novel. Court documents show the two had exchanged messages for months after Davis told him she was pregnant in January. Of course, he was not exactly father-of-the-year material. He made it clear he didn’t want the baby, saying they weren’t “in love,” calling the pregnancy a “monstrosity of a situation,” and even referring to the unborn child as a “thing.” He allegedly threatened to make trouble in her divorce case and talked openly about ordering abortion pills online.

He eventually softened, or so it appeared. He invited her over for what he called a “trust building night” with “warm relaxing tea.” Days later, he swapped tea for hot cocoa, and Davis says that’s when everything went south. After drinking it, she began hemorrhaging but was too scared to leave her kids alone upstairs. Cooprider supposedly promised to get her mom to take her to the ER, but instead left and claimed he had to catch a flight.

Davis says she sent him frantic texts, including, “I am gushing blood. Please hurry.” But he never came back. Her mother eventually arrived via Uber in the middle of the night. The fetus didn’t survive. When Davis returned home, she says she found an open pill box and a bottle, which she handed over to the Corpus Christi Police Department.

Police Allegedly Aren’t Investigating

Here’s the part that’s hard to wrap your head around: the police reportedly told NBC News there’s no active investigation into Cooprider. That’s despite Texas’ near-total abortion ban, which allows civil lawsuits and makes providing a prohibited abortion a potential felony punishable by years in prison and massive fines.

In a state where abortion laws are among the strictest in the country, the silence from law enforcement is raising some serious eyebrows. If these allegations are true, this isn’t just a personal betrayal; it’s a bombshell case that tests whether Texas will actually enforce the laws it so loudly champions.
