For most people, a trip to the movies is a harmless night out. You grab some popcorn, watch a film, and head home. But horror films have a long history of strange stories attached to them. From fainting moviegoers to people walking out mid-screening, it’s no secret that this genre can get under people’s skin. Still, one Texas man’s Conjuring experience managed to outdo every creepy theater tale you’ve ever heard.

The Texas couple thought they were settling in for a spooky night at the movies. Instead, they ended up living out a nightmare of their own. Just 20 minutes into the film, chaos broke out. Theater staff interrupted the screening to deliver the kind of news you never expect to hear during a movie. His car had gone up in flames outside.

By the time he rushed to see it, the vehicle was nothing but a charred wreck. Melted parts, scorched interiors, and the eerie timing of the fire left him and everyone else shaken. To make matters creepier, he caught the aftermath on video, and it’s every bit as disturbing as it sounds.

The Texas man shared his experience on TikTok, as a precaustionary tale, and found many others claimed to have experienced bizarre and frighteing events as well.

Conjuring Curse Hits Texas

Of course, this isn’t the first time The Conjuring has been linked to bizarre happenings. Over the years, theaters have gone so far as to bless audiences with holy water before screenings, and fans have shared their own chilling experiences.

Once the Texas man’s story hit social media, people began flooding the comments with their theories. Some swore it was divine intervention, others called it bad luck, but a handful of users claimed they’d faced similar disasters. One even posted proof that their car also burned while watching the same movie. Suddenly, this wasn’t just a freak accident. It was starting to feel like a pattern.

“Yea this might be a sign,” one commenter writes.

Yo they tryin tell you sum man do not go home,” adds another.

Okay, so not even watching this at home apparently,” writes a spooked follower.

This is a cool marketing tactic,” claims one more.

If that wasn’t disturbing enough, other moviegoers chimed in with their own spine-tingling accounts: rosaries breaking mid-movie, unsettling vibes in the theater, and multiple witnesses confirming the screening had to be paused just to deal with the chaos.

And while no one can explain exactly how or why it happened, one thing is clear. This night at The Conjuring didn’t just deliver scares on the screen. It turned into a real-life horror story that no one in that theater will ever forget.

They say the scariest part of a horror film is when the lights come back on. But for this Texas man, the real terror was waiting outside. Maybe The Conjuring is more than just a movie after all.
