Michigan Woman’s Kroger Run Turns Traumatic After Pervert’s Sick Move: ‘Can’t Even Go Grocery Shopping’

What should have been a simple grocery run ended with fear, disgust, and lasting trauma for one Michigan woman. She was just going about her day, moving through the aisles of her local Kroger, when she began to feel that something wasn’t right. A young man seemed to be trailing her, aisle after aisle, in a way that made her skin crawl.

The female Michigan shopper’s unease quickly turned into horror when she suddenly felt something wet on her pants. That’s when her gut told her the nightmare had just become real. She suspected the man following her was to blame, and what he had done was both deliberate and vile.

The liquid itself was never officially identified, but many, including the shaken woman, feared it was bodily fluid. The thought alone left her feeling violated and humiliated in a space that should have been safe.

The world is going crazy. So much has happened this month, and we’re not even 15 days into September,” one concerned commentator states.

“Can’t even go grocery shopping,” adds another.

“I should just order groceries for delivery from now on,” one more writes.

The Michigan Kroger staff didn’t waste time. They immediately pulled the security footage, and the manager confirmed what she already knew in her gut. The man had been following her closely throughout the store. Her sense of security was shattered. What should have been a normal trip to grab groceries had turned into a terrifying violation.

Michigan Police Uncover Disturbing Details

She filed a police report and handed over her pants for forensic testing. The police took the case seriously, and it wasn’t long before her fears were validated.

Days later, the man was identified when he attempted the same disturbing act on another woman at the same Kroger. This time, a sharp-eyed employee recognized him and called the authorities. When police arrived, the suspect tried to flee. A move that spoke volumes about his guilt. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Deon Otis Grant, was arraigned but later released on a $10,000 bond. Despite restrictions barring him from contacting his victims or returning to that Kroger, the release left many outraged, especially given the store’s proximity to a school.

A 20-year-old Southfield man has been arrested and charged after police say he allegedly assaulted two women inside a Farmington Hills Kroger by discharging an unknown liquid onto their pants. Police say the first incident happened Sept. 4 at the Kroger store on Middlebelt Road. A woman reported that a man followed her through the store and discharged an unknown liquid onto the back of her pants. She provided the pants to investigators, who secured them for testing and began reviewing store surveillance video. Four days later, on Sept. 8, the suspect returned to the same store. Employees recognized him and called 911. Before officers arrived, police say he followed another woman and repeated the same act. Officers confronted the man as he tried to run from the store and took him into custody. Police confirmed he was the same suspect from the first incident. The second victim’s clothing was also collected as evidence and will be tested. The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office has charged the suspect, identified as Deon Otis Grant, with two counts of fourth-degree criminal s*xual conduct — one count for each victim. Grant was arraigned on Wednesday in 47th District Court, where a not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf. He was released on a $10,000 personal bond and is prohibited from returning to the Kroger or contacting the victims. Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact the Farmington Hills Police Department at 248-871-2610.

This horrifying case is a reminder that women are often forced to live with the fear of being targeted, even in the most mundane places like a grocery store. While the victims were brave to speak up and push for justice. The idea that someone accused of such behavior is already back on the streets is deeply unsettling. For Michigan women, it’s a wake-up call that safety in public spaces is far from guaranteed.
