Victorville, California, became the center of a bizarre and unsettling mystery after a teddy bear. The shocking bear, seemingly stitched together with human skin was found dumped outside a local gas station. The gruesome discovery was made around noon on Sunday and triggered a full-scale response from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Responding to a 911 call about “human remains,” deputies quickly descended on the scene, taping off the area as stunned onlookers tried to make sense of the terrifying sight.
Slumped outside the California convenience store entrance, the teddy bear didn’t just look creepy, it looked disturbingly real. The bear’s face appeared human-like, and its torso was covered in patches that eerily resembled skin. The grotesque craftsmanship left customers rattled and law enforcement on high alert, according to the Daily Mail.
A California coroner’s investigator treated the object with extreme caution, handling it with gloves before slipping it into an evidence bag. Officials haven’t yet confirmed if the bear’s “skin” is real, but forensic testing is underway to determine the truth.
The California Artist Behind The Nightmare
Just when it seemed like something straight out of a horror film, an unexpected twist emerged. A Facebook post from DarkSeed Creations, a page run by South Carolina artist Robert Kelly, claimed responsibility for the design. According to Kelly, the bear is one of his horror-themed art pieces, made entirely from synthetic materials meant to mimic gore.
Kelly, who has built a niche business crafting grotesque figures and dolls for the haunted attraction industry. He confirmed that he shipped the bear to a customer in Victorville last week. While his work is meant to shock, he said he never intended for it to spark a law enforcement investigation. Or public panic.
