A woman in Alabama set off a huge debate and discussion on the internet when she announced that her 14-year-old daughter was pregnant. In the video, the woman revealed that the teenage girl and her boyfriend had been together since they were 12 and had decided to have a child together, and that she was planning to be supportive. However, the video didn’t go over well online.
In a TikTok video posted by Alabama user @Ashyassss, she smiles and says “My 14-year-old is officially pregnant and having a child. Before you guys come for me, she has been in a relationship since was 12 with the same guy. He is also 14. She knows I really love puppies and I really love kids,” she started off the video.
The woman went on to explain that she could happily help raise the child because she loves children so much. However, what many people didn’t realize was that the woman wasn’t telling her own story. Instead, the video was satire, and for entertainment purposes. However, it was a true story sent to her by one of her followers.
Alabama Woman Sets Off The Internet With Teen Pregnancy Story
Of course, without context or the knowledge that the video was satire, the comment section exploded.
“Wait they tried and you allowed this?” one person wrote. “I was pregnant at 15. Honestly there’s nothing to be happy about. It’s going to be hard, she’s going to struggle. But she can do it. Her childhood is gone now though,” said another. “So you will be raising her kid. Not a good example,” a third person stated. “That child is still a child, it feels like your just using her to have another baby that you can take care of. she needs to be a child and live her life without regrets. you only get one childhood,” a fourth comment read.
Of course, those who did pay attention revealed that the woman’s post wasn’t a true story from her life, an tried to point that out to others.
“This is SATIRE people!!! It’s not real,” one woman said.
“Yall need to read and pay attention bc her bio clearly says SATIRE and she tells stories that ppl send her,” another chimed in.
“Reading is fundamental people.. Does anybody read? It says #Satire,” a third comment read.
Of course, this is a reality for some people. Teenage pregnancy is nothing new and those who have the support of their families are lucky. Many teens don’t feel supported by their parents. So, why thisn’t wasn’t this Alabama mother’s story, it is something that many families deal with across the country.
