Fast-food workers deal with plenty of complaints every day, but most disagreements end with a refund, a replacement order, or maybe a frustrated customer storming out the door. One Oklahoma Pizza Hut employee reportedly found himself in a much more serious situation after a simple order mistake allegedly sparked a chain reaction that ended in violence.

According to reports, police in Del City, Oklahoma, have been searching for a couple accused of taking their frustration over a pizza order to an entirely different level. The incident reportedly began on May 18 when a customer’s order was accidentally handed to someone else.

Nobody likes hearing that their dinner has disappeared into the hands of another customer. It’s frustrating, inconvenient, and definitely enough to test someone’s patience. But authorities claim what happened next went far beyond an ordinary customer complaint.

Oklahoma Pizza Hut Employee Brutally Assaulted After Messing Up Order

Police allege that a woman identified as Jessica Ellis entered the restaurant and became furious over the situation. According to court documents, she reportedly confronted an employee, demanded that the problem be fixed immediately, and began yelling profanities inside the restaurant.

The employee reportedly attempted to resolve the issue by issuing a refund for the order, which totaled just $22.49. However, authorities claim the situation continued escalating rather than calming down. According to reports, Ellis allegedly spit in the employee’s face before leaving the restaurant. But police say the encounter wasn’t over.

Authorities allege that before departing, she informed the employee that her boyfriend would be handling the matter. The worker reportedly contacted law enforcement after the confrontation, likely hoping the drama had finally ended.

Unfortunately, police claim that wasn’t the case. According to court documents, a man identified as Cortez Davis later arrived at the Pizza Hut. Investigators allege he forced his way inside and physically attacked the employee.

Reports claim the worker was punched in the face before being knocked to the ground. Authorities further allege that the assault continued after that, with the employee being kicked multiple times before the suspect left the scene. Perhaps the most surprising part of the entire story is that, according to reports, neither a replacement meal nor a refund was obtained during the incident.

The Violence Is Shocking

Police say they later spoke with Ellis by phone. According to reports, she acknowledged portions of what investigators alleged occurred. However, authorities claim she remained focused on the missing refund.

In an unusual twist, reports indicate she allegedly contacted 911 multiple times seeking reimbursement for the pizza order and even requested that an officer deliver the money to her. Unsurprisingly, that’s not exactly how customer service complaints are typically handled.

The bizarre case has attracted attention online because of the stark contrast between the original problem and the alleged response. What reportedly began as a mistaken pizza handoff worth less than twenty-three dollars ultimately turned into a police investigation.

While everyone understands the disappointment of not getting the food they paid for, most people would probably agree there’s a major difference between asking for a refund and allegedly turning a customer service issue into a criminal matter.

“Just sick,” one person commented. “What a world of losers,” said another. “A danger to society,” a third person weighed in. “Throw ’em in jail and lose the key,” a fourth comment read. For now, authorities continue investigating the Oklahoma incident.
