Chris DeFlorio, a retired New York officer, left behind 20 years patrolling the streets of Harlem to confront something far more unsettling. Alongside his wife, Harmony, a former FDNY EMT, the couple has spent years traveling the world investigating paranormal activity, tackling nearly a thousand cases without asking for a dime.
The New York couple’s work might seem fearless. But darkness has a way of making itself known. Five years ago, Chris had a nightmare that would haunt him for years. It took place in a hotel room and involved demons he couldn’t defeat, and a robed figure wielding an upside-down cross. The vision was violent, personal, and chilling. But according to DeFlorio, it was only the beginning.
Last year, his nightmare returned, this time with a mother and child. Their giggles were not innocent. They carried a cold warning. “We told you to stay away,” the pair whispered. The very next day, a frantic Long Island mother called the DeFlorios after a mirror was violently thrown across her home, narrowly missing her two young children.
The husband and wife team arrived the next day from New York. Armed with a crucifix and Bible in hand, Chris sensed a dark presence swirling around him. According to the New York Post, the warnings were clear, and the danger was real. It had followed him into the living world.
Sinister Warnings That Could Not Be Ignored
Despite the threat, Chris and Harmony refused to turn away. Drawing on decades of study, they pressed forward to protect the innocent. Harmony explains, “We’re just His messengers. It’s not us doing the work; it’s His prayers and blessings that make the difference.”
After a year-long break, the DeFlorios have decided the call is too strong to ignore. Concerns for their family, including twin grandsons, make the stakes higher than ever. However, their sense of purpose outweighs fear. “We need to do this. We’re called to do this,” Chris says. “I was thinking with human reasons and forgetting the God factor.”
