A very reckless guy from New Jersey decided the best way to spend his day was by taking on law enforcement in the most unhinged way possible. Instead of lying low or acting like a normal citizen, this man thought it would be smart to literally jump on top of a police cruiser while the officer was still inside.
The scene played out like something straight out of a low-budget action movie. Video footage from Reddit shows the New Jersey man climbing onto the hood of the vehicle as the cop slowed down, clearly unsure of what to do with the spectacle unfolding right in front of him.
Things quickly went from bizarre to downright destructive when the man began pounding on the windshield with his fists, ultimately shattering it. Imagine the audacity it takes to fistfight glass while standing on a moving car.
New Jersey Man Causes Chaos With Police Car Attack
However, the chaos didn’t end there. When the officer attempted to get out of his car, the man kept slamming the door shut to block him. Eventually, the officer did manage to step out, and the suspect toppled off the roof. Most people would take that as their cue to quit. Not this guy. In a move that feels more like slapstick comedy than real life, he managed to tumble right into the driver’s seat as he fell.
Of course, once in the front seat, the man tried to commandeer the vehicle. Luckily for everyone involved, he didn’t succeed in starting the car. The officer, showing an almost saint-like level of patience, refrained from immediately using force. Instead, he yelled for the man to get out and, when that failed, threatened to shoot him if he didn’t comply. At one point, the windshield wipers inexplicably switched on during the scuffle, adding a weird, almost comedic layer to the dangerous situation.
The video ends before the grand finale. However, this New Jersey man almost certainly got himself arrested. Viewers who saw the clip online were split. Some praised the officer’s restraint, while others argued he should have pulled out his taser the second the suspect tried to shut him in his own car. And honestly, it’s not a bad point. This man was aggressive, unpredictable, and putting the officer at serious risk.

“She left when it got too real,” one person commented of the woman filming. “Somebody should call the police,” joked another. “The cop showed remarkable restraint, not his first rodeo, and let the guy basically do himself in,” a third chimed in.
In the end, this wild display proves two things: one, New Jersey never fails to deliver a jaw-dropping headline, and two, trying to out-crazy a cop by jumping on his car is not the genius move you think it is.
