A man in Minnesota doesn’t agree with his mother’s politics. The outspoken social media user recently revealed to his followers that he decided to get back at his mother, whom he believes voted for Donald Trump, by sharing a secret that she’s held close to her for several years, her iconic sugar cookie recipe.
In a TikTok video that has been viewed nearly 3 million times since it went life, a Minnesota man named Nick opted to share the cookie recipe that his mother holds so dear with the world. He gave away some serious family secrets in the post, and later followed it up with a frosting recipe as well.
“I’ve been thinking about this for awhile. My mom voted for Trump. I just know she did. So, here is her most closely guarded secret recipe,” Nick said in the video.
Nick went on to explain that throughout his lifetime, his mother had only ever given this recipe to two other people, including his ex-wife, who had to wait until after they were married to get the recipe.

“If I’m being entirely honest you’re going to just going to want to make a double batch,” he told followers in the caption of the video. Nick went on to explain some more crucial elements of making his mother’s beloved cookie recipe. In an update days later, he also shared her frosting recipe so that the internet could fully get the deliciousness of the sugar cookies.
Of course, the internet went wild over the video, and many couldn’t help but comment on the situation.
“Tell your mom a trans woman has her recipe and I’m gonna make them for my Mexican/Honduran husband,” one person wrote.
“Tell her I’m buying all the ingredients with EBT right now,” another stated.
“Wholesome rebellion is still rebellion. Let them eat cookies,” a third person wrote.
“Not everyone can attend protests. Thank you for your service. I want all the coveted recipes,” a fourth comment read.
It seems that Nick decided to rebel against his MAGA mother in a very peaceful way. However, he likely knew that this would hit her where it hurts. Whether or not the Minnesota mother knows what her son’s been up to is another story. Either way, many on TikTok loved the video and are seemingly planning to use the recipe in their own lives.
