Driving, or at least being in a vehicle, is an everyday task for some people. However, with the continued rise in gas prices around the United States, some people are finding their own, more creative ways to save a few bucks. Take this recently posted TikTok video as a prime example. The clip has around 15K likes and 161K views as this Indiana Uber driver pulls up to a customer in the most unthinkable vehicle.
The TikTok video starts off with two young men standing together in a parking lot. However, they are standing next to an e-bike, but it is no ordinary e-bike. This bike has some special customizations that are maybe a little less than safe. Strapped to the back of the bike is an old plastic lawn chair, like one of the flimsy all-white ones. The text on the screen also reads, “Greenwood, Indiana isn’t a real place, look at this. Your next Uber ride just pulled up.” The two Indiana men just kind of stand around for a few as the customer seems a little skeptical of this contraption in front of them, and rightfully so, it’s very sketchy.
TikTok Reacts To Unusual Indiana Uber Driver
The TikTok comment section also had a lot of thoughts on this matter, as many would flock to the video to leave behind their own opinions. “Hey, don’t judge, Indiana saw the largest gas price increase out of anywhere in the US last week,” wrote one. Another said, “With these gas prices? I get it.“
Somebody else also pointed out, “I work at the Greenwood Walmart, and they had it parked in the store a couple of days ago.” A different viewer also stated, “Nah, man, I would have canceled immediately.” Another excited user claimed, “I saw them the other day!” Finally, one last person’s comment also read, “These guys have more hustle than most.“
As the TikTok video continues, the two Indian men finally get on the e-bike. The customer got on first as he looked a little shaky trying to balance himself on the lawn chair. Then the driver hopped right up into the seat and was ready to go. The two men can then be seen rising off into the distance together, and hopefully, they made it to their destination without any issues.
At the end of the day, this is actually a pretty clever way to get around, despite the obvious dangers that come with it. Hopefully, these Indiana men are careful when riding that thing around, and maybe next time they can even wear helmets.
