Usually, while out in public eating, the expectation is that you will not be bothered, especially when you’re with another person. However, that’s not always the case. There are countless clips on social media showing strange dining encounters or altercations. This recently posted TikTok video with around 537K likes and 4.2 million views is no different. The clip shows the odd conversation between a California woman and a pastor asking for a donation, as viewers can’t get enough.

The TikTok starts off with the woman zooming in on an older, well-dressed man, motioning her to come talk to him. Although the man in the video has a very creepy look on his face while doing this, which absolutely makes the young woman uncomfortable. Some text then flashes on the screen that reads, “He was calling me over for five minutes straight.” The video’s caption also asks, “Is this normal?” Finally, the California woman would head over to investigate.

TikTok Reacts To Creepy California Pastor

As she arrives, the man, who is clearly a pastor, states, “You almost didn’t come over.” The woman responds by telling him that she was a little “taken aback” by the situation. Yet, the man then shows another creepy smile as he asks the woman for a donation to his church. “By saying yes to god you are chosen. Chosen to give a donation to our ministry’s prayer hour,” the man says in the video.

The TikTok comment section would then erupt, with many users flocking to the video in order to leave behind their own jokes, questions, and opinions on the matter at hand. “I’ve CHOSEN to call the police,” jokes one. Another pointed out, “That’s the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen.” One more stated, “His energy is not right.” Finally, one last commenter wanted to know, “So, he basically singled you out for money?”

As the TikTok video continues, the California woman states that she does not have any cash on her right now. Yet, the man in the video was ready for that situation as he states, “The ministry accepts Zelle.” Following this, the woman finally had enough as she told the man to “Have a blessed day” and turned to walk back to her friend and finish her meal. While this was a very strange encounter, at least the pastor took no for an answer. However, bugging people during their meal, especially with a friend, probably isn’t the best way to get donations.
