Wisconsin residents are reeling after news surfaced about a shocking and violent attack in Suamico. A 16-year-old teen, Ramone Waupoose, allegedly turned on his own mother with a 2-foot-long hedge trimmer, slicing her across her face, arms, head, and back, all over what police describe as a YouTube dispute. According to the criminal complaint, this terrifying incident happened inside their family home.
The teen reportedly had a history of running away and, according to his mother, was “pissed that he was snatched back” by authorities just two days before the attack. His frustration didn’t end there. Waupoose was allegedly furious that his mother deleted some of his rap videos from his YouTube account, according to Law and Crime.
What might seem like a minor disagreement spiraled into a near-fatal encounter. “Ramone went back to his room, and I again texted him about going to eat and asked if he was going to come. He replied back ‘no,’” she told police, noting how she began monitoring him through cameras due to his increasingly hostile behavior.
Wisconsin Teen Attacks Mother With Hedge Trimmer In Shocking Violent Outburst
In the days leading up to the attack, Waupoose’s mother described him as “creepier” and more suspicious than usual. She recounted how he was “pacing like a caged tiger” during meals, which led her to proactively remove knives, sharp kitchen tools, and even a drill, locking them in her car.
Despite her precautions, police say he found a pair of pruning shears hidden behind a mattress in the garage. Authorities allege that Waupoose then lured his mother to an electrical box, turned off the power to the house, and launched the brutal assault.
Remarkably, the mother and her 12-year-old son, Waupoose’s younger brother, managed to escape the home and drive away to safety. Police observed blood near the shears at the scene and later discovered messages on Waupoose’s phone that referenced killing his ex-girlfriend and plans to record a video of harming his mother and brother.
The Teen Allegedly Revealed Plans To Kill His Family
The teen was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide with the use of a dangerous weapon, as well as first-degree reckless injury with a dangerous weapon. In Wisconsin, children ages 10–16 are automatically charged in adult court for attempted first-degree intentional homicide, which underscores the gravity of these allegations.
Currently, Waupoose is being held on a $50,000 cash bond and is awaiting his next court date on August 25, which will include a competency hearing. This harrowing incident has left the small Wisconsin community in shock, highlighting just how quickly domestic disputes can escalate and the importance of vigilance when warning signs appear.
