Jaden Smith 26, has spent plenty of time in Paris lately, attending Fashion Week events and dining at elite restaurants. He was recently photographed during a late-night outing where drug paraphernalia was visible beside him. The image, unsurprisingly, went viral. It is drawing concern from fans and reigniting criticism about his lack of direction and sense of entitlement.
This isn’t Jaden’s first chaotic headline out of Paris. In a separate incident last October, he was caught on camera shouting and storming out of an upscale restaurant, visibly upset about a missing bag. Dressed in a fur-trimmed coat and low-rise black pants with no shirt, the scene looked more like a fashion meltdown than a casual dinner.
According to The Globe, many are pointing fingers at Will Smith and his estranged wife Jada Pinkett Smith. Jada and Will are accused of enabling their son’s behavior. Rather than guiding him toward stability or responsibility. The Smiths have long promoted a “free-thinking” philosophy for their kids, but critics say it’s gone too far. Especially with Jaden now pushing 30 and still acting like a rebellious teen with no clear career path or personal accountability.
Jaden Smith himself has acknowledged that he’s actively working on being “more weird.” He claims it bothers him for others to see him as normal. In interviews, he admits that he never felt understood and that societal expectations frustrated him. Particularly in creative spaces. As previously reported, Will Smith recently acknowledged that he believes that he and Jada Pinkett Smith have failed as parents. While the couple has always seemed to embrace a free-spirited, open-minded parenting style, Will claims it has been a huge mistake.
To Will, it is a painful reminder that no matter how much fame or fortune you have, raising kids is always a little messy, and sometimes uncomfortable. And often filled with regrets, per the Daily Mail. Jada and Will’s followers couldn’t agree more and are calling out the family’s poor choices.
