Texas Man Brutally Harrassed During Chick-fil-A ‘Hate Crime’ And Nobody Helped Him: ‘You Didn’t Deserve It’

It’s no secret that Texas summers are absolutely brutal, and when the temps soar, dressing for survival is the name of the game. But apparently, not everyone got the memo. One man’s casual decision to rock short Lululemon shorts after a run ended in more than just a spicy chicken sandwich. Instead, it spiraled into a dramatic and allegedly homophobic encounter inside a Chick-fil-A in Georgetown and it’s blowing up on TikTok.

Posted under the username @Ariangrandeslave, the nearly four-minute video is already viral with over 220K likes and climbing. In it, the man sits in his car, fresh from the scene, and shares his side of the story, one that’s unfortunately all too familiar for many LGBTQ+ Texas residents trying to navigate everyday life in a state known for both its Southern hospitality and, at times, uncomfortable conservatism.

The man had just finished a run props for working out in this heat and, naturally, wore short Lululemon athletic shorts to stay cool. You know, like millions of people do when the mercury hits triple digits. Post-run, he decided to swing by Chick-fil-A for a quick bite, which should’ve been an uneventful pit stop. Instead, while waiting in line, he was allegedly verbally harassed by another man who took issue with his outfit.

Texas Man Victimized For Wearing Lululemon Shorts

In the video, the TikToker suggests the root of the harassment may have been homophobic in nature, saying he believes the man “thought he was gay.” The on-screen text in the clip doesn’t hold back either: “Hatecrimed for wearing Lululemon shorts.” While it’s hard to imagine getting worked up over someone’s gym attire, it’s 2025, and somehow this nonsense still happens.

According to the video, the Chick-fil-A was packed with around 50 customers. And yet, only one person stepped up to defend him, a local volunteer firefighter named Wyatt, who not only supported him in the moment but also stuck around to speak with police when they arrived. The TikToker confirms that he is pressing charges, which sends a strong message that harassment, no matter how “small” it may seem to bystanders, shouldn’t be tolerated.

What makes this even more jarring is the location. Chick-fil-A, despite its delicious waffle fries and famously polite staff, has a complicated history with the LGBTQ+ community. Although the chain has attempted to distance itself from its past donations and political affiliations, the perception still lingers, making this confrontation in a Texas Chick-fil-A all the more symbolic.

Sad Situation At Chick-fil-A

The TikTok’s caption reveals the man’s growing frustration with life in his town, bluntly saying he “cannot wait to get out of this place.” It’s the kind of exhaustion many feel when faced with small-minded behavior in communities that are slow to evolve. Because honestly, wearing shorts shouldn’t be controversial.

In the end, we can only hope that justice is served, both legally and socially. And that maybe, just maybe, next time someone’s grabbing lunch in Georgetown, Texas, in their Lululemon shorts, the only thing people comment on is how long the drive-thru line is.
