Jacob Jones, a young man from North Carolina, has a name you might not recognize at first. But wait a few seconds, and you’ll see why people are talking. He’s part of a growing group of social media creators whose lifestyles seem almost unbelievable. Yet somehow, they’re earning serious money. You might think it’s a prank or an exaggeration, but his following proves otherwise.

Jones, in his mid-20s, has amassed hundreds of thousands of subscribers across platforms. Per Globe, he has roughly 700,000 on YouTube and half a million on Instagram. His content? Videos of himself drinking, chain-smoking, and generally flaunting bad habits, all under the handle “jacobf**kingjones.” The kind of content most people would scroll past in horror is exactly what his fans are willing to pay for.

And the money is no joke for a young man from North Carolina. On Patreon alone, 74 subscribers pay $160 a month to access exclusive content, bringing in nearly $12,000 monthly. That’s $144,000 a year, just from a small, dedicated group. Add 11,000 Twitch followers who chip in $5.99 monthly, plus YouTube ad revenue and sponsorships, and his “self-destructive” lifestyle has become a surprisingly profitable business.

North Carolina’s Jacob Jones Risky Lifestyle

Jones’ videos range from the absurd to the shocking. One hour-long YouTube segment, titled “Cigarette Mukbang [Hella Buzzed],” shows him chain-smoking while reviewing multiple cigarette brands, from Marlboro Menthols to imported Camels.

Other clips have him drinking at 8 a.m. on a Thursday, enjoying a public Valentine’s Day solo drinking session, or experimenting with Everclear mixed with soda. Locations vary from small North Carolina parks to major cities like Nashville and Tokyo.

“This man did his research and enjoyed every minute of it,” one follower writes.

“You are my favourite YouTuber. I’m watching all your videos, keep doing what you do,” another adds.

What makes it even more unbelievable is that people actually pay to watch it. Fans aren’t just passive viewers. They subscribe, tip, and support Jones financially, rewarding him for content that many would consider reckless or self-destructive.

Turning Chaos Into Cash

Jacob isn’t alone. The internet is full of influencers pushing boundaries, from extreme dieting tips to controversial adult content and lifestyle stunts. Yet what stands out in Jones’ case is how a relatively young creator from North Carolina turned something so ordinary. Not to mention arguably dangerous, into a legitimate income stream that shocks and fascinates viewers alike.

At the end of the day, the real question is? How long can this continue? Jones is making thousands by broadcasting habits most people try to avoid. But will this lifestyle last, or will it eventually catch up with him? Either way, one thing is clear. In the bizarre, unpredictable world of social media, even the most shocking, self-destructive content can turn into a lucrative career.
