In heartbreaking news out of the Hamptons, New York Netflix personality and real estate broker Sara Burack has died at the age of 40 following a hit-and-run incident. Fans of Million Dollar Beach House, the luxury real estate series on Netflix, will remember Burack for her dynamic presence and deep knowledge of the high-end housing scene in New York. But behind the glitz and glam of million-dollar listings, Sara was also a passionate entrepreneur and a beloved part of the Hamptons community.
The fatal incident occurred during the early hours of June 19, when a 911 call led authorities to the side of Montauk Highway near the Villa Paul Restaurant in New York. A caller reported seeing a woman lying unconscious by the road, and when police arrived, they found Burack with serious injuries consistent with being hit by a moving vehicle. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but tragically did not survive, per The Mirror.
What makes this story even more disturbing is that the driver responsible fled the scene. As of now, police have no witnesses and no details about the vehicle involved. The Southampton Town Police Detectives and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit are leading the investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward in hopes of bringing some form of justice and closure to this devastating event.
New York Netflix Star Sara Burack Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident
While many know Sara Burack as a face from Netflix, her career was rooted in the luxury real estate world. She worked with Nest Seekers International, a well-known brokerage that covers high-profile properties in Manhattan and the Hamptons. Her passion for real estate was deeply personal and built on a foundation of family business experience. In a 2020 interview with Hamptons.com, Burack opened up about her path to becoming a broker.
“My family has a commercial construction material sales business that I spent many years of my life working for,” she said. “I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent.”
She added that she had been splitting her time between New York City and the Hamptons for over a decade, and that diving into real estate felt like a natural extension of her lifestyle. For her, it wasn’t just about closing deals; it was about bringing a genuine love for the area into her work.
Fans of Million Dollar Beach House will remember Burack’s charm and enthusiasm for the Hamptons lifestyle. “Viewers will be taken into the world of the Hamptons where they will see not only beautiful multimillion-dollar beach homes and estates, but will be shown summer in the Hamptons pre-COVID,” she said at the time. “With scenes from broker open houses, polo games, yacht life and more, there is sure to be an awww from viewers!”
Gone Too Soon
Now, instead of watching Sara sell stunning beach homes, fans and friends alike are mourning a vibrant woman whose life was taken far too soon.
“Nothing good happens after midnight,” one person commented.
“Thoughts and prayers to her loved ones,” another wrote.
“Gone too soon. RIP,” a third person stated.
Police are continuing to investigate and are appealing to the public for any tips or dash cam footage that may help identify the vehicle involved. As the New York real estate and entertainment communities come to terms with this shocking loss, the hope is that answers and justice are not far behind.
