Donald Trump ‘Lost His Mind,’ Cedes MAGA Popularity Amid Profane Easter Message, per Massachusetts Poll: ‘Don’t Give Stupid People Power’

A new poll out of Massachusetts is raising eyebrows about Donald Trump, and the timing couldn’t be more dramatic, considering his latest social media outburst. Researchers at UMass Amherst teamed up with YouGov to take the temperature of American voters, and the results suggest something interesting: while many still stand by their 2024 choice, and the MAGA cracks are starting to show.

Satisfaction among Donald Trump voters has dipped noticeably, dropping from 74 percent in April 2025 to 62 percent now, per Mandatory. That’s not exactly a collapse, but it’s definitely a shift. The Massachusetts poll comes just after a profanity-heavy Easter social media rant that has dropped jaws.

Political science professor Tatishe Nteta explained it like this: “With much attention being paid to ‘regretful’ Trump voters in the media reports, since April 2025, we have asked Americans to revisit their choice for president in 2024. While we find only a small number (5%) of one-time Trump voters indicating that they regret their vote and would have voted differently, this is up from only 1% of voters in July 2025 and 2% in April 2025 who expressed a similar level of regret.”

So yes, it’s still a minority, but it’s growing, and in politics, trends matter. Now, let’s talk about what might be fueling this shift, because it’s not happening in a vacuum. The ongoing tensions and outright conflict between the U.S. and Iran are playing a major role.

Rising oil prices are hitting everyday Americans where it hurts, and concerns about a partial government shutdown aren’t exactly helping the mood either. Another poll found just 39 percent of respondents approve of how Trump is handling things, while 57 percent are not impressed. And just when you think things couldn’t get more intense… they do.

Enter Trump’s Easter Sunday post. Instead of the usual holiday messages about peace, reflection, or even a simple “Happy Easter,” Trump took things in a completely different direction, launching into an expletive-filled rant on Truth Social that had people across the political spectrum doing a double-take.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!” he wrote, before escalating things even further: “Open the F—–’ Strait, you crazy b——-, or you’ll be living in H— – JUST WATCH!” He wrapped it all up with a surprising “Praise be to Allah.”

The reaction was swift and not exactly positive. Critics slammed the tone, the timing, and the implications, especially given the reference to targeting infrastructure. Iran’s mission to the United Nations didn’t hold back either, warning: “Once again, the US president openly threatens to destroy infrastructure essential to civilian survival in Iran… The international community and all states have legal obligations to prevent such atrocious acts of war crimes. They must act now. Tomorrow is too late.”

“I swear how the F— is this normalised? Imagine any other world leader saying s— like that,” one person said via X. “This is why you don’t give stupid people power,” said another. “That language from a sitting president on Easter morning is something else entirely,” a third person added. “He lost his mind,” a fourth comment read.

Meanwhile, the markets reacted in real time. Oil prices surged to levels not seen in over three years, adding even more pressure to an already tense situation. All of this is unfolding while questions swirl not just about policy, but about tone, leadership style, and even stability. Whether you see Donald Trump’s messaging as strong or reckless seems to depend entirely on where you stand, but one thing is clear: it’s not calming anyone down.
