Richmond, Kentucky got a little more chaotic this summer when Stephanie Carlquist allegedly took revenge on her ex-boyfriend in the most dramatic way possible. According to the Richmond Police Department, Carlquist’s July feud with her former flame ended with $12,000 worth of car damage, including some very sparkly consequences.

The criminal complaint paints a wild picture. Carlquist is accused of pouring salt into the engine, slashing a tire, cracking the windshield, smashing the rear-view mirror, destroying the car’s radio screen, and stuffing glitter into the AC vent, per WKYT.

Her ex-boyfriend told police she initially slashed one tire on July 6, but after a heated argument on July 15, she allegedly went full demolition mode on the rest of the vehicle. One Richmond resident commented online, “That glitter is diabolical, it’s gonna be in his place for the rest of his natural life.” Indeed, even minor car damage can be a headache, but glitter is a lifelong commitment.

The saga continued when the car was towed to a Goodyear in Richmond. Mechanics declared the vehicle totaled after the estimated damages climbed to $12,464.96. Police reports indicate Carlquist confessed to the tow truck driver, who promptly contacted the ex-boyfriend’s mother, co-owner of the car, about the confession.

Not shying away from the drama, Carlquist then slid into her ex’s Instagram DMs, explaining she was “stressed out because of her pregnancy” and offering an apology for the destruction. Some online commenters couldn’t help but cheer, saying things like, “Not all heroes wear capes,” while others speculated, “I’m sure a GoFundMe is in the works. Future millionaire!” One even claimed that this was “crazy girl” behavior.

During the police interview, Carlquist admitted to the glitter-filled vents and damage to the windshield. However, she claimed that he was “overdue” for oil and motor maintenance, hinting at a justification for the more technical sabotage.

The Internet Is Amused

Despite this, the felony criminal mischief charges are serious. Carlquist is currently held in the Madison County Detention Center on a $12,000 bond. Naturally, some online users aren’t entirely shocked by the audacity, warning, “She looks like she will do it again.”

Kentucky locals are buzzing over the bizarre combination of heartbreak, revenge, and glitter, turning what could have been a standard dispute into a viral moment.
