A group of women from Denver, Colorado, were out on the town for a girls’ night when they were approached by an over-aggressive man. Thankfully, one of the women pulled out her phone to catch the assault on camera as the man, who had obviously been drinking, continued to pursue them, using vulgar language and even getting physically violent toward them. The scene is disturbing, but after posting the videos, many on the internet turned on the victims.
In a TikTok video posted by one of the Colorado women, it’s clear that the drunk man is pestering them. In addition to holding an alcoholic beverage, he also uses vulgar language about their bodies and degrades them.
The man, wearing shorts, a white t-shirt, and a baseball cap is seen standing next to the women’s vehicle. Meanwhile, one of the women is next to the man asking him to leave the group alone. He refuses to do so, and then threatens to hit the women if she touches him. He’s also seen grabbing the woman’s arm, swatting at her phone, and knocking it out of her hand. He later stomps on her phone while it’s lying on the ground.
Colorado Women Get Harrassed and Assaulted By Drunk Man During Scary Interaction
“He ended up getting arrested for public intoxication, but I chose not to press charges for assault (mostly because I do not want to deal with the legal / court system). In the moment, I just wanted him to get away from us and get off the streets for the night,” one poster shared in her caption on TikTok.
However, after watching the man get violent and say disgusting things to the women, many were upset that she didn’t press charges. In the comment section, several people spoke out in disagreement with her decision to let the man walk without consequence.
“Glad you’re okay but Let’s normalize pressing charges NO MATTER WHAT,” one person wrote. “Not pressing charges harms all the women after you that deal with him,” another said. “How is he gonna learn his lesson if you didn’t press charges,” a third person stated. “They had the opportunity to hold him accountable but decided not to,” a fourth person chimed in.
The Internet Turned On The Women After Finding Out They Didn’t Press Charges
The original poster replied to several of the comments, revealing that it was a stressful situation and that she felt it was right for her not to press charges. Meanwhile, others stood up for her and were shocked by the “victim blaming” going on.
“Would love to see how you would handle this situation in real life, it’s easy to comment what you would do but completely different when it actually happens to you,” the poster wrote in one comment.
Thankfully, the Colorado women are all safe, and the video is traveling around the internet for all to see. Perhaps that will show the man his revolting behavior and help him see the error of his ways.
