Patrick Clancy Appears On 60 Minutes Following Massachusetts Mistrial
Patrick did testify at Lindsay’s triple-murder trial, where her defense argued that she was not criminally responsible for the deaths of her three young children due to postpartum psychosis and overmedication. Lindsay admitted to strangling her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, at the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts home in January 2023.
However, her long history with mental illness and postpartum depression was the basis for her defense. Meanwhile, the prosecution alleged that Lindsay Clancy deliberately killed her children. Patrick Clancy took the stand to testify about events that happened in their marriage and on the day his children died, notably describing Lindsay as a “wonderful mother” who would do anything for her kids (via Boston.com).
The Case Against Lindsay Clancy
After testimony, the jury deliberated but couldn’t come to a unanimous decision. Jurors later revealed they were split 11-1 in favor of finding Lindsay not criminally responsible, with a single holdout juror preventing a unanimous verdict, per Newsweek. On Sept. 4, the judge declared a mistrial. A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 29, where the judge may address what happens next in the case.
In his 60 Minutes interview, Patrick will speak about “his grief, his memories of his children, and the baseless conspiracy theories that flooded social media since his ex-wife’s murder trial,” per the show’s YouTube channel.

According to a spokesperson for his legal team, Patrick hopes the interview will help refocus attention on the memory of Cora, Dawson, and Callan, and on the importance of perinatal mental health care.
