Carrot Top fans are sending their love and well wishes after the comedian was rushed to the hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, following an incident of self-harm, per TMZ. The performer, whose real name is Scott Thompson, is now receiving medical treatment.

Carrot Top’s rep Jami Schlicher released a statement about the situation. “Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers, and respectfully ask for privacy.”

“Genuinely hope he’s okay, comedians carrying that much weight behind the laughs is heavier than people think,” one person wrote via X. “I’ve known people who could make a whole room laugh and then go completely quiet once everyone left,” another said. “Carrot Top, you’re an icon don’t let those intrusive thoughts get the better of you,” a third comment read.

Carrot Top Once Revealed What His Las Vegas Life Was Really Like

Now, previous comments about the comedian’s life in Las Vegas are hitting differently. During an interview with Joe Rogan on his podcast, Carrot Top opened up about working in Nevada, and the balance of his home life and professional life.

He admitted that while his home life was calm and quiet, his shows in Las Vegas were anything but. In fact, they were the opposite, as he joked about how it felt to perform in the city.

“I live in the, you know, in the Summerlin area, where it’s like very nice. Yeah. Suburban. Suburban,” he told Rogan. “But then you go to work inside the Devil’s Ball. The Devil’s Ball is a good way to put [it]. And then I leave. Back to Summerlin,” he added.

Who Is Carrot Top’s Girlfriend?

It’s unclear whether the comedian’s girlfriend, Amanda Hogan, lives with him. However, the couple have been in a relationship for more than a decade (via Hindustan Times). Hogan reportedly runs her own catering and event-planning company. She also has her own home decor business and sells pottery and tableware on Etsy.

For years, Carrot Top’s life has revolved around the quiet suburban world he described in Summerlin and the larger-than-life Las Vegas stage that made him a fixture of the Strip. His comments to Rogan offered a glimpse at the person behind the famous red hair and outrageous props someone who seemed to appreciate having a place to escape to when the show was over.

For now, fans are hoping that Carrot Top gets the same chance to step away from the spotlight and focus on himself. As his representative asked, those closest to him are asking for privacy while he recovers.
