Over the Summer LeBron James basically held the NBA free agency market hostage, as every team in the league was waiting for him to make his decision. In the end, the King chose Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to bless with his basketball talents. Since then, James has seemingly been enjoying what could be his last, or at least one of his last, seasons before calling it quits for good.
With that being said, just the other night James showed off that new carefree attitude with a hilarious stunt on the court. After a dead ball, James ran out of bounds due to his momentum. He would then grab a drink from a fan’s hands and take a sip.
LeBron James Jokingly Sips Win During Philadelphia 76ers Game
According to TMZ, the Philadelphia 76ers face off against the Chicago Bulls in an NBA Eastern Conference showdown on Monday night. However, it was never really much of a contest; Philly just rolled through the Bulls with a final score of 107-126.
Yet, the way in which they won was not the headline from this game; it was LeBron James’ sideline stunt that caught the eye of the Pennsylvania NBA fans. This moment between LeBron and his new fanbase is certainly a special one, and it will only help in the long run.
The Internet Reacts To The NBA Superstar’s Mid-Game Antics
Social media was also going nuts following The King’s sip, as many users would hurry to leave behind their own thoughts and jokes regarding the encounter. Some predicted that the cup would sell online, while other suggested The King is enjoying the twilight of his NBA career.
“That cup will be on eBay before tomorrow,” said one. Another wrote, “Bro is just enjoying his final years.” A different person’s comment also read, “He should do this more often; the people love it.” Finally, someone else also joked, “I’d never wash my mouth again!”
How Did LeBron Play Against The Chicago Bulls?
In the contest against the Chicago Bulls, LeBron James grabbed 7 rebounds, had 9 assists, 1 steal, and 15 points, so stopping for a drink was well earned. This win also pushed the Philadelphia 76ers to an Eastern Conference best record of 7-1.
At the end of the day, LeBron James seems to be having a great time in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and why shouldn’t he if they keep winning at this rate? What is in store for these new-look 76ers? Could it be a championship, or will they flame out before reaching the end goal?
Either way, LeBron James is along for the ride and having fun while doing so.
