Arizona Guest Turns Airbnb Into a Mega-Party Venue: ‘Clout Chasers Gonna Clout’

Something wild went down in Arizona recently, or at least tried to. It was the kind of event every short-term rental owner secretly fears. When a quiet booking turns into something out of the ordinary. One host was expecting a normal rental for New Year’s. Maybe a small group, nothing that requires a fire marshal. Instead, what he stumbled into was the blueprint for a party so huge it could have qualified for disaster relief funding.

Once the Arizona reservation was confirmed, the renter hopped onto TikTok and announced to thousands of viewers that she’d be hosting an enormous New Year’s celebration. At a property that wasn’t hers. The host, Rob Abasolo, also known as @Robuilt, found the video and responded publicly.

The reality hit him like a cold plunge. She was broadcasting an open invitation to basically anyone in Arizona, calling out major cities and encouraging people to show up. Suddenly, his Airbnb went from “nice holiday booking” to “potential festival.

Things got even more jaw-dropping. The renter claimed she spent an extravagant amount of money on the rental and that the host told her throwing a massive bash was perfectly fine. Both of those statements? According to the host, it did not happen.

And then came the next twist. She announced that around 2,000 people were expected to show up. Yes, two thousand. At someone else’s property. With alcohol. And teenagers. The host, understandably stunned. He proceeded to explain how things like this are why neighbors glare at Airbnb properties.

When someone invites thousands of strangers into a residential neighborhood, the result isn’t “fun party memories.” It’s likely property damage, noise complaints, and hosts considering converting their rentals into underground bunkers.

Attention Arizona. I am so sorry to announce the party is cancelled 😂 Scottsdale Arizona

You Are The Reason People Hate Airbnb Hosts

So the Arizona property owner canceled her reservation on camera. The fun part he is using her own party announcement as the proof. Later, he said she was permanently removed from the platform.

Here’s the thing. Situations like this don’t just annoy hosts. They punish everyone else. Every time someone tries to turn a rental into a nightclub.

  • Hosts raise rates to offset future disasters,
  • Neighborhoods tighten regulations,
  • Airbnb adds more rules and fees,
  • Regular travelers end up paying more for fewer options.

All because one person decided their rental was the perfect venue for a city-sized New Year’s celebration. The irresponsible party crowd isn’t just ruining weekends. They’re ruining affordable bookings for the rest of us.

Instead of apologizing, the renter posted her own follow-up video claiming she was receiving threats but insisting the party was still happening “somewhere.” She even mentioned sending a legal notice to the host. Meanwhile, the internet collectively sided with the guy trying to save his house from becoming a viral insurance claim.

Clout chasers gonna clout chase ig,” one commenter writes.

People are reckless as heck,” another adds.

“At least she get a refund, but damn, this embarrassing,” one more adds.

Her lack of accountability is insaaaane,” another chimes in.

In the end, the host kept his property intact. The renter lost her booking and her Airbnb privileges, and the internet was gifted a dramatic TikTok saga.

Moral of the story. If you want to ring in the New Year with thousands of strangers, maybe don’t do it in someone else’s home (Arizona, or not.) Where the host has Wi-Fi, TikTok, and zero hesitation in hitting the “cancel reservation” button.
