Wisconsin Man Steals From Best Buy And Fellow Customer Is Fed Up With How Staff Handled It: ‘This Country’s A Disaster’

Working in the service or retail industry seems like a real nightmare. There are countless online videos that depict those career paths as active war zones. Now, with that being said, this recently posted TikTok video with around 80K likes and 760K views is a perfect example of the kind of crazy stuff these employees have to deal with on a daily basis. The clip shows a Wisconsin man as he attempts to stop a shoplifter with the help of a Best Buy employee. 

The TikTok video starts off with a bang, as the action begins straight away. However, despite the odd angel, the person recording does get all of the drama on-camera. Viewers can see as a strange man walks behind the Best Buy counter and gets a hold of what appears to be a PlayStation 5. The store employee can then be heard confronting him as he says, “Sir, please stop. No!” Finally, the Wisconsin man in the check-out line asks, “Is this guy stealing?” The worker would then confirm the crime, as the shopper jumps into action and chases after the shoplifter. The customer can then be heard yelling “Hey!” at the criminal as he makes his escape.

The TikTok comment section was rolling after this, as many would rush to leave behind their own thoughts and jokes regarding the matter at hand. “I agree with the customer 100 percent,” wrote one. “What is even the point of having security?” another person asked. Someone else would then joke, “Why would they put the most expensive stuff next to the door?” Finally, one last person comment read, “A true patriot right there,” in regards to the customer who chased the shoplifter. 

However, as the TikTok video continues, the criminal would actually get away. The customer was not happy about this at all, it would seem. He asks the employee why they let the man steal their stuff, though, and the man’s reply actually seems to make him even angrier. The worker explains that they are not allowed to touch the would-be shoplifters. 

Yet, the Wisconsin man is not satisfied with that answer, as she states, “What a joke, no wonder this country is a disaster.” Although what’s done is done, and rules are rules. The employee obviously doesn’t want to lose his job over a single PS5. However, the customer shakes this off pretty fast as he walks up to the counter and asks the cashier, “What do I owe you?” At the end of the day, this was certainly a strange interaction, but at least this man tried to do the right thing.
