While being able to get a good meal with just a few button pushes is very handy, it can also be a little sketchy from time to time. Take this recently posted TikTok video for example. The clip has around 180K likes and two million views as an older DoorDash driver returns to a California woman’s house to drop off some unwanted gifts. Social media users can’t get enough of the disturbing encounter, as the video has skyrocketed to viral status.
The TikTok video begins with the older man dropping off the woman’s food on her front porch. However, the young woman would go outside before the man was gone. They would exchange a few words as she told him to “Drive safe.” At first glance, this seems like a very normal encounter, and then the older California man leaves. Although sadly, that would not be the last time this woman saw that man.

The video then cuts to later that night as the camera’s night-vision has kicked on. It’s then that viewers can see the same man from earlier standing in the darkness as he shouts, “Hey now, they forgot your dessert.” Yet, arguably the scariest part about this is the fact that the California man is wearing gloves this time around. He then drops the food on the porch as he looks sad that the woman did not come to the door.
The TikTok comment section was freaked out following this, as many would rush to leave their own thoughts behind on the matter. “What that man did was terrifying,” stated one commenter. “Isn’t the point of DoorDash to not meet them?” asked another. One other person pointed out, “DoorDash has the strangest employees.” Finally, one last person wrote, “This is why I changed my name to a man’s name on DoorDash, it’s so scary out there.”
As the TikTok video comes to an end, the woman goes out to investigate what the creepy California man had brought her. It turned out to be a gross-looking kid’s jacket, and a plastic tray of store-bought cupcakes. She then makes a brave decision, as the woman walks down to the street to throw the items away, instead of waiting until the morning. This was an extremely unsettling encounter. Hopefully, this California woman won’t ever have to experience something like this again in her life. As for the DoorDash driver, this is not okay behavior, and maybe it’s time to take a long look in the mirror.
