Owning a car can be a real pain sometimes; if something breaks, it can be very expensive to fix it. However, sometimes those problems call for thinking outside the box, and that’s exactly what this California driver did. A recently posted TikTok video with around 8K likes and 125K views shows this driver manually wiping ice from their windshield with the wiper from inside the car. However, the catch is that they are doing it by hand, as social media can’t get enough of the idea.
The TikTok begins with the person recording stopped in some slight traffic. Although what doesn’t add up is the vehicle in front of them with their window down in such bad weather, even in California. However, moments after this, an arm can be seen reaching out of the car window with a windshield wiper in hand. The person then proceeds to wipe the outside of the windshield with the wiper before driving forward in the flow of traffic. While this definitely gets the job done, they probably have to do this every couple of minutes, and that has to be such a hassle. Not to mention their arm has to be getting pretty sore from all that windshield wiping.
TikTok Applauds California Driver’s Creativity
Yet, the TikTok comment section found this situation funny and also very creative. Many would flood the video to leave behind their own thoughts on the matter. “I feel like we’ve all been this poor at one point,” wrote one. “That’s a different type of struggle. I’m weak,” said another. One stated, “You gotta do what you gotta do.” Another comment read, “Trump’s economy.” Finally, one other person hilariously joked, “I always wipe with my right hand.” It would seem as though, while many find this pretty funny, they understand the struggle and are actually applauding the creativity.
While this California driver may not have a working windshield wiper, the most important parts of their vehicle seem to be intact, and that’s all that really matters. Struggle is a natural part of life, whether that is financial problems or other issues. However, creativity is also a very important trait in everyday life.
Hopefully, this California driver was able to get their windshield wiper fixed for a reasonable price following this video. However, even if they didn’t, it would seem that they got it covered with the manual wiping. Vehicle maintenance, while important, is very expensive, and sometimes not everything needs to be fixed right away. This TikTok video seems to be a prime example of that.
