President Donald Trump just dropped a bombshell. During his Friday press conference, the president admitted that he would consider pardoning his former friend, Sean Diddy Combs, if he is convicted.
Not one to mince words, Donald Trump’s response to the reporter’s Sean Diddy Combs pardon question is raising many eyebrows. According to TMZ, Trump, 78, was asked about the ongoing Diddy case and if a presidential pardon could be on the table.

“Nobody’s asked. But I know people are thinking about it,” he said. “I think some people have been very close to asking,” states Trump.
For anyone living under a rock over the past several months, Sean Diddy Combs, 55, was arrested back in September on federal charges including sex trafficking, transportation for prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy. Combs has spent the past eight months and counting behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York, and is currently on trial in Manhattan.
President Donald Trump Suggests Clemency Could Be An Option
Donald Trump admits he hasn’t been glued to the coverage. However, he’s aware the case is blowing up in the headlines. “I’d look at what’s happening,” he said. “I haven’t been watching it too closely, although it’s certainly getting a lot of coverage.”
When it comes to their personal history, Trump didn’t deny that he and Diddy go way back. “He used to really like me a lot,” Trump said. “But I think when I ran for politics… that relationship busted up.”
President Trump says he hasn’t seen Diddy in years, but he insists any personal drama wouldn’t play into his decision. Many may recall in 2012 on ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’ Donald Trump mentioned the rapper, “I love Diddy … You know, he’s a good friend of mine, he’s a good guy.“
As for pardons in general, Trump’s been very generously handing them as of late April. So far, Paul Walczak, Scott Howard Jenkins, James Callahan, and most recently, reality TV couple, Todd and Julie Chrisley.
The Diddy trial is still in its early stages and expected to drag on for several more weeks, so any talk of a pardon is purely hypothetical, at least for now. Still, leave it to Trump to toss his name into the mix and keep headlines buzzing. Whether or not Diddy is convicted, one thing’s certain: this case isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and the drama is far from over.
