A man in New Jersey has gone viral after sharing what he believes is a genuinely unsettling situation unfolding right in his own backyard. And no, it’s not a noisy neighbor or a weird animal sighting, it’s a tree. Specifically, a tree he insists shouldn’t even be there.
According to the now-viral TikTok series, which has racked up tens of millions of views, the New Jersey man is convinced that one of the trees in his yard is not only fake, but also slowly moving closer to his house. And he’s not just casually mentioning it. He’s documenting it, measuring it, and fully trying to prove his case.
It all started when he noticed something felt off. He compared two trees in his yard, one he says he’s always known, and another that just doesn’t sit right with him. “This thing is not real,” he says in one of the videos, pointing at the mystery tree. He claims the tree doesn’t appear in childhood photos and isn’t visible on Google Maps, which led him to question how long it’s actually been there.
New Jersey Man Believes His Tree Is Moving
Naturally, that’s where the conspiracy angle starts creeping in. But the real twist comes with his belief that the tree isn’t staying put. To back this up, he’s been going outside daily, measuring the distance between the tree and his fence. According to him, that distance is changing.
In follow-up videos, he’s seen pacing out the space, analyzing small differences, and even using yarn stretched between trees to track potential movement. In his latest update, he claims the yarn has shifted, adding fuel to his theory. And whether you believe him or not, the commitment is impressive.
He’s also pointed out other details that don’t sit right with him. For example, he says the tree doesn’t sound normal when he knocks on it, describing it as off in a way he can’t quite explain. He also claims he’s never seen birds land on it, something he concluded after watching it for hours.
“Everything about this thing looks fake,” he says. At one point, the situation clearly gets to him. “I’m genuinely freaked out.” And the internet is fully locked in.
The comment section has basically turned into its own mini think tank, with people throwing out theories ranging from logical to… not so much. “We need you to set up a camera for a timelapse or something,” one person suggested, clearly ready to take this investigation to the next level.
