Kurt Cobain, the troubled genius behind Nirvana, was found dead in his Seattle home in 1994. Fans were left destroyed as authorities quickly ruled the loss a suicide. But whispers of foul play never truly faded. But now, shocking new evidence threatens to shake the story fans have been told for years.
According to an exclusive investigation, Seattle cold case detectives quietly reopened a secret review of Cobain’s case after a King County assistant prosecutor was presented with disturbing findings by a private investigator.
That investigator, Jason Jensen, claims to have discovered documentation pointing to possible forgery in the suicide note found beside the Nirvana frontman’s body. Two handwriting experts have reportedly backed his claims.

The infamous note, which many initially believe to be Cobain’s final words. Now appears to have been written in two different styles. Experts say the top portion matches Cobain’s handwriting exactly, but the last four lines, which urge Courtney Love to “keep going” for their daughter Frances Bean, look to be from a different hand entirely, according to the National Enquirer.
Evidence That Doesn’t Match Kurt Cobain Official Death Story
A forensic specialist even points to a “practice sheet” found among Love’s belongings after a 1994 drug arrest, which may have been an attempt to mimic Cobain’s style. Over the years, Courtney Love has faced her share of conspiracy accusations, despite the official suicide ruling. But these alleged forgery claims only add fuel to the fire.
Before his death, Cobain had reportedly planned to divorce Love and remove her from his will. The official cause of death states he died from a self-inflicted shotgun wound. Yet, a 2014 police report revealed Cobain had three times the lethal dose of heroin in his system.
The circumstances of Kurt’s death have long troubled me,” Jensen tells the Enquirer. “I never believed he killed himself once I saw the purported suicide note. It’s obvious that a part of that note was forged!”
This is an insane amount that experts say would have made it nearly impossible for him to operate the shotgun. Adding to the mystery, his body was face-up with the weapon in his left hand. But the shotgun shell landed on the opposite side.
With the handwriting analysis and troubling forensic inconsistencies, fresh doubt is once again swirling around Cobain’s death. Was the Nirvana icon truly a victim of suicide? Or could someone close to him have ended the singer’s life on their terms?
