Another day, another Kardashian parenting moment sparking a debate across the internet. This time it’s Khloe Kardashian. The reality star, Good American mogul, and mom of two is raising eyebrows after reportedly saying she doesn’t want her kids to have to work when they grow up.

According to a recent insider leak, Khloe Kardashian is working overtime on her many business ventures, not just to expand her empire, but to ensure that daughter True (7) and son Tatum (2), her children with ex Tristan Thompson, are “set up for life.” The insider told In Touch that Khloe wants her kids to have enough security so that working is optional for them. That means if they decide they want to live a chill life without ever clocking into a 9-to-5 or launching their own brand, they can.

“She’s doing everything she can now,” the source said, explaining that Khloé has taken her hustle to new levels recently, largely thanks to some no-nonsense advice from none other than Kris Jenner. “Kris is always reminding them that this window for cashing in could close at any moment. People aren’t at the top of the fame food chain forever; it’s actually a miracle it’s lasted this long for them.”

Khloe Kardashian Says She Doesn’t Want Her Kids To Work

Celebrity fame, especially reality TV fame, is notoriously fickle. One minute you’re on top, the next you’re trending for all the wrong reasons or worse, not trending at all. So it makes sense that Khloe, like her momager, would be planning for a future where the cameras stop rolling and the endorsement deals dry up.

But not everyone’s thrilled with the idea that her kids might grow up without ever knowing the value of hard work. In fact, the backlash online has already begun, with critics pointing out how out-of-touch it sounds in a world where most people are grinding just to keep up with inflation.

Let’s not forget this comes on the heels of another eyebrow-raising Kardashian parenting moment. On the Khloe in Wonder Land podcast back in May, Kourtney infamously asked, “Why do kids [expletive] go to school? Truly, it’s so dated,” to which Khloe chimed in, “I’m such a homeschool person so don’t even get me going.” That clip alone sent the internet into a spiral, and now Khloé’s latest stance on work seems to be pouring more fuel on the fire.

To be fair, Khloe isn’t saying she wouldn’t let her kids work, just that she doesn’t want them to need to. The source clarified, “Not that she won’t expect them to work, but she also wants that security for them.” Which, to be honest, sounds like what any parent with the means would want: to give their kids options.

Still, in the Kardashian world, where luxury is the norm and private jets are basically taxis, it’s hard for some to swallow statements like this without a little side-eye. But love them or hate them, the Kardashians have built a dynasty off branding, business, and being bold—and Khloé’s just making sure her kids can cash in without the pressure.

“Really ridiculous parenting,” one person said via Instagram.

“Terrible parenting! So much is learned by working,” said another.

“Not expecting them to make their own way in this world is not good parenting. You need to work and get out in the world to appreciate what you have. Handing things to them teaches them nothing,” a third comment read.

So while most of us are setting up college funds and clipping coupons, Khloe Kardashian is setting up trust funds and planning for a post-fame future.
