Justin Timberlake can’t stop the backlash after another lackluster concert performance. But this time it looks like the singer has given up. The pop icon is facing major heat after fans blasted his lazy performances this past week. A now-viral video shows the singer barely uttering the lyrics to his hit songs and letting the audience carry most of the tune.
Justin Timberlake has developed a habit of turning the mic toward the crowd, and gesturing for them to sing while he took what seemed like a musical smoke break. At one point, he casually told the audience, “Sing, c’mon,” before strolling off toward his band like it was karaoke night at a local dive bar.
The crowd, needless to say, was unimpressed, and many are demanding a refund. The fan who shared the video sarcastically captioned it: “When you pay for a concert but get a mute singer,” adding that Timberlake basically took the night off onstage, according to the New York Post.
In another moment from another show, Timberlake joked about the weather, asking if the summer rain was normal in Romania or if it was “cooked up” just for him. The joke didn’t land, and fans online weren’t laughing either.
Comments flooded social media, with reactions like, One viewer even stated, “I want a refund and I didn’t even go.” Another summed it up perfectly: “So basically you paid your ticket to listen to yourself.” Another adds, “He’s made his $$$, Dude, does not care anymore.”
Justin Timberlake Tour A Disaster From Start
Justin Timberlake is currently in the middle of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which kicked off in April 2024 and is expected to wrap up in Istanbul at the end of July. This day couldn’t come fast enough for the troubled former boyband star.
It hasn’t been smooth sailing. Earlier this month, Justin was caught on camera yelling at the stage crew during a sound issue at the Lytham Festival in England. And back in February, he abruptly canceled a stop in Ohio due to the flu only hours before showtime. This left fans furious despite promises of refunds.

Then there’s that little DWI incident in June. Justin Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, Long Island, for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He eventually pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and issued a public apology.
Truth be told. Justin Timberlake’s world tour is starting to look more like a string of damage control exercises than a musical comeback. From sound issues and sick days to courtroom apologies and now this half-hearted Romanian performance, fans aren’t feeling the vibe. And if JT doesn’t get his act together literally. He might find fewer people showing up to sing for him next time.
