However, she appeared to be innocent of the crime. Since then, rumors have been running wild about a recast so that the character can return to Salem and into the arms of her husband, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).

Recasting a character is a common practice on soap operas. “Days of Our Lives” has had its fair share of recasts. Some have been excellent like Billy Flynn as Chad DiMera or Raven Bowens as Chanel DuPree. However, other recasts have left “DOOL” fans seeing red. Now, a new Gabi may be coming to Salem in the form of Cherie Jimenez Faris.
The latest “DOOL” rumors suggest that the actress may be stepping into the role. Although there has been no official confirmation, there are hints that Faris may have joined the cast. The actress’ social media reveals that she follows the “Days of Our Lives” official account. She also follows cast members like Carson Boatman (Johnny DiMera) and Raven Bowens. Of course, she’s also following Camila Banus herself.
As previously reported by Hollywood News Daily, a casting call went out with a description that matched Gabi. It seems likely that the show may have found their new Gabi.

If Cherie Jimenez Faris looks familiar, it’s likely because you’ve seen her on one of your favorite shows. The actress has held roles on TV series’ such as “Pretty Little Liars,” “The Newsroom,” and “NCIS” in the past.
A dive into her social media account reveals that she’s happily married to actor Shawn Faris. She’s also the mother of an adorable little boy named Phoenix. Cherie also appears to be an animal lover, who loves showing off her cute little pup.
What would a Gabi recast mean?
It’s unclear if “Days of Our Lives” has plans to recast Gabi. However, bringing Gabi back to Salem could mean a couple of things. The show may be looking to recast long-term so that the character can continue on the show. However, they might only bring Gabi back for a short time to wrap up her storyline and possibly send her and Stefan off in style.
