Thrifting, or the act of going to thrift stores and buying old, used things, is all the rage for today’s youth. Taking old things and making them something new, or just using them the way they are intended, is seen everywhere online as well. Take this recently posted TikTok video for a perfect example. The clip has around 989K likes and four million views as this Connecticut woman shares her amazing thrift store find with the internet.
The TikTok video begins with the young woman explaining that she had purchased an old camera from a thrift store. However, when she took the item home, she had noticed that the SD card was still inside. So, she used her card reader to download the few pictures and videos that were on the device, and what she found was truly amazing.
TikTok reacts To Connecticut Woman’s Thrift Store Find
The photos show a group of young men as they campaign for United States President Barack Obama in the year 2008. Finally, the photos also show the young men at an Obama rally as the president gives an iconic speech. The Connecticut woman who purchased the camera is in shock at what she discovered, as she can’t contain her happiness while recording the video.
The TikTok comment section also had a lot to say regarding this discovery, as many would rush to the video in order to leave behind their own thoughts and opinions. One commenter wanted to know, “Where are these kings now?” Somebody else also stated, “How has it been 18 years already? These guys are almost 40 now.” A different comment then read, “This made me cry.” Finally, one last person also said, “You should send this to his national Library.“
As the TikTok video comes to an end, the Connecticut woman also gives the viewers a good look at all the pictures of President Barack Obama, and there are even a few of his wife and first lady, Michelle Obama. At the end of the day, this camera was a part of history, and these captures are as well. What a cool thrift store find from this young woman, as this is the kind of stuff that thrifters live for. Not only did this woman get a cool new camera, but she also got a part of history.
