The Cleveland Cavaliers have faced many injuries already as we approach the halfway point in the 2023-24 NBA season. The Cavs have had to battle and scrap their way through many of their current wins. There have been a few bright spots this season; one of them is Cleveland’s center, Jarrett Allen. Allen has dominated without his starting point guard and backcourt counterpart. Hollywood News Daily will be taking a better look at Allen’s recent success.

All-Star Allen

Many thought that The Cleveland Cavaliers would simply implode without their star point guard Darius Garland and rising star Evan Mobley. That has simply not been the case though. Cleveland has pulled together in their absence and Jarrett Allen has been their anchor. The latest example is Cleveland taking down the San Antoni Spurs. Jarrett Allen was tasked with guarding the 7 ‘4 rookie and first-overall pick, Victo Wembanyama. Although Wemby was able to walk away with a double-double, Allen and the Cavaliers walked away with the win.

Wembanyama posted 24 points, 3 assists, and 10 rebounds. While Jarrett Allen went for 29 points, 2 assists, and 16 rebounds. Allen is a walking double-double machine and recently had a 24-point and 24-rebound game. Of course, basketball is a team game and Donovan Mitchell gets his share of the credit. As well as Cleveland’s newer signing Max Strus

We can’t forget about the bench scoring either. Sam Merril has become one of the team’s best shooters as he had himself a night with 18 points with 5 threes made. Caris LeVert also plays a huge role for Cleveland off the bench. After a close game against San Antonio Cleveland will ship out to France for the NBA’s Paris game where they will take on the Brooklyn Nets.

Cavaliers in Paris

“I thought we made a little bit of an early exit mentally,” Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff said, referring to the team’s Sunday evening flight to Paris, where the Cavs will play Brooklyn on Thursday at 2 p.m. ET. “But we figured out a way to get it done, and it’s over.” as reported by Cleveland.com

The Cleveland Cavaliers will represent their city and fans as they head overseas. As they continue to weather the storm and wait for Garland and Mobley to return, Jarrett Allen will have to continue to play at this high level. This is all-star basketball fans are seeing from Allen and the best he has played in his career so far. Will he be able to keep it up and give Mitchell his much-needed help? Only time will tell as the All-star break is right around the corner.
