Tennessee is once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons. This time, it’s a deeply disturbing and heartbreaking case that reads more like a true crime documentary than real life. Authorities are on the hunt for a man they believe is responsible for a quadruple murder that left a baby miraculously alive and alone in a car seat, miles away from the crime scene. Locals are now grappling with the aftermath of a chilling and calculated family slaughter.
The suspect at the center of the Tennessee manhunt is 28-year-old Austin Robert Drummond, who now faces a laundry list of charges: four counts of first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, and a few weapons charges just to round it out. His criminal history is also horrifying.
Drummond has already served prison time for robbing a convenience store and threatening jurors. While behind bars, he was hit with attempted murder charges. This is not someone who’s just made a few mistakes. He’s reportedly dangerous, and officials say he should absolutely be considered armed and dangerous. However, Drummond might not have acted alone.
Tennessee Tragedy Has Everyone Rattled
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation isn’t just focusing on Drummond. Two other men, Tanaka Brown and Giovonte Thomas, both 29, have been charged with being accessories after the fact to first-degree murder. Authorities believe they somehow “assisted” Drummond in pulling off the gruesome killings, though they’re staying pretty tight-lipped about what that assistance actually involved. Brown faces an additional charge for tampering with evidence. He’s been booked into the Lake County Jail, while Thomas, who was already in jail on an unrelated charge, is expected to be transferred for arraignment.
Let’s not forget the victims. James M. Wilson (21) and Adrianna Williams (20), the young parents of the infant who was found alone but unharmed. Alongside them were Adrianna’s mother, Cortney Rose (38), and her 15-year-old brother, Braydon Williams. All four were discovered dead in Tiptonville, Tennessee. The baby, incredibly, was found alive in a car seat in the Tigrett area, some 40 miles away from the murder scene, another tragic layer to this already unbelievable case.
So far, police haven’t released how the victims were killed, how the suspects assisted Drummond, or how the baby ended up so far away. And with Drummond still on the run, answers may be slow to come. Meanwhile, many are wondering why Drummond was out of prison after all of his criminal behavior. “Why was this dude walking the streets?” one person asked. “Trump pardoned him,” another said.
This Is One Horrific Crime
As for the getaway, authorities believe they’ve found the vehicle Drummond was using in Jackson, Tennessee, about 70 miles from the original crime scene and closer to where the baby was located. It appears that this wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment crime; it was thought-out, it was brutal, and it’s shaken the Tennessee community to its core.
Right now, what’s certain is this: a child has been orphaned, four people are dead, and three men are at the center of a crime that seems pulled from the darkest corners of the internet. The public is waiting anxiously for justice and answers.
