‘This Is Gut-Wrenching’ — Delaware Bride Visited The Car Wash And Paid A Devastating Price: ‘Eating Me Alive’

What should have been a routine errand in Delaware quickly spiraled into a bride-to-be’s worst fear. One local woman is now sharing how a simple stop at her usual car wash ended with her engagement ring mysteriously disappearing, and she’s still trying to make peace with it.

The Delaware TikToker, Casey Corradin, explained that she’s been replaying the moment in her head ever since. She had pulled into the car wash she regularly visits, following the standard instructions to step out of the vehicle so employees could clean both the interior and exterior. Before hopping out, she slipped off her rings to apply hand sanitizer and lotion, something many have done without a second thought.

That split-second decision is now something she calls “one of the worst mistakes” of her life. When she returned to her vehicle, the panic hit almost immediately. “The second I sit down, I realize my engagement ring is missing,” she shared. “I had three rings to start. Two rings are still there. The most expensive ring with a diamond on it is not there anymore.”

I know this is my fault but this is the worst feeling I’ve ever had

Corradin quickly flagged down a manager, hoping for a fast resolution. Instead, she says she was told the person on duty didn’t know how to access the security cameras and that she’d have to come back the next day. For a bride missing her engagement ring waiting wasn’t an option.

Determined not to leave without answers, she pushed back, even threatening to call the police. That’s when the manager agreed to review the footage. According to Corradin, the one camera angle that would have clearly shown who was in the driver’s seat at the time was broken.

Police arrived promptly to investigate, speaking with workers and searching the facility. Despite their efforts, the ring wasn’t located, and she ultimately filed a report. “The car wash has all of my information in case it magically shows up,” she said. “But I have accepted the fact that it’s gone.”

The ring itself wasn’t just any piece of jewelry. In a follow-up video, she described it as a black teardrop-shaped diamond set with white diamonds along the band, unique and unmistakable. Her father has since stepped in, determined to help. He reportedly plans to visit pawn shops across Delaware, armed with posters featuring photos of the ring in hopes someone might recognize it.

Pawn shops are often the first stop when stolen jewelry is flipped for quick cash. If the ring does surface and can be identified as stolen property, there’s a chance it could be returned without her having to buy it back. It’s a long shot, but not impossible.

A Devastating Blow

Still, the emotional weight of the situation is heavy. Corradin openly admitted, “I 100% realize this is my own fault for leaving my ring in that situation. That is the part that is eating me alive.” Many flooded her comments reassuring her that stepping out of your car at a business you frequent shouldn’t result in theft. Trusting a routine environment doesn’t make someone careless, it makes them human.

“I’m coming to terms with it. I really don’t think we’re going to get any luck at any pawn shops. But who knows? Crazier things have happened.”

“They have high suction vacuums. This happened to a friend of mine and they found the ring in the vacuum they used,” one person said in the comment section. “This is gut-wrenching, I am so sorry!!” said another. “This is not your fault!! and yes worse things could’ve happened, but that doesn’t make this any easier or less painful,” a third person chimed in.

For now, this Delaware bride-to-be is holding onto hope while trying to let go of guilt. Whether the ring turns up in a pawn shop window or remains a mystery, one thing is clear: a quick stop at a Delaware car wash has turned into a story she never expected to tell and one she likely won’t forget anytime soon.
