For one Texas woman, a routine stop at Chipotle turned into a moment she says she won’t forget anytime soon, and not in a good way. Steph, who posts on TikTok under the handle @yourlocalhotmessmom, shared a story that’s equal parts uncomfortable and downright gross. And once you hear it, you might understand why she captioned her video, “I don’t think I’ll be able to go to Chipotle for a while.”
According to Steph, her experience started off a little questionable but not deal-breaking. She says she walked into a Chipotle location in North Round Rock in Texas, and immediately noticed an employee working the line who appeared to be struggling with the heat.
“I walked up and this guy [is] sweating, just dripping on his face,” she explained, even mimicking the motion of sweat running down someone’s face. Now, anyone who’s ever worked in food service knows it can get hot back there. Kitchens aren’t exactly known for being breezy, and sometimes you just power through. Steph even admits she initially brushed it off.

“You know what? It’s fine,” she said, deciding to go ahead and order anyway. But then things got tense fast. As the employee started assembling her bowl, Steph says she couldn’t help but focus on one very specific detail: a bead of sweat forming and hanging off the tip of his nose. And suddenly, her lunch order turned into what she describes as a race against time.
To make matters worse, there was a bit of confusion about her order. As a vegan, she wanted sofritas, but she says the employee kept asking her multiple times to clarify her protein choice. Meanwhile, that droplet wasn’t going anywhere.
Until it did. Right into her food. At that point, Steph says she had to speak up. “I’m so sorry, your sweat just dropped in my bowl,” she recalled telling him. What happened next only made the situation more awkward. According to Steph, the employee let out a big sigh, turned around, and tossed the bowl straight into the trash without much reaction.
TikTok Is Grossed Out
Another worker then stepped in, apologized, and offered to remake the order. But by then, the damage was done. Steph decided she was completely over it. “You know what? Actually, I’m good,” she said, opting to leave instead.
“I would throw up,” one person commented online. “Now imagine not being able to see this because you did an online order,” another stated. “I would have left too,” a third person chimed in. “Chipotle is just not it,” a fourth comment read.
The Texas woman left the Chipotle and decided on another fast food option instead. While this could be an isolated incident, it seems that Steph may not be headed back to Chipotle anytime soon.
