In a deeply unsettling twist that sounds more like an episode of Dateline than a peaceful beach vacation, a human leg bone was recently found washed ashore just steps away from the Watch Hill estate Taylor Swift owns in Rhode Island.
The leg bone was discovered in May 2025 and has since been identified as belonging to 31-year-old Eric Wein, a Massachusetts man who had been reported missing back in April. His vehicle was found in South Kingstown on April 10, and he was officially declared missing on April 18. Police confirmed the remains belonged to Wein on June 13, shaking locals and especially Taylor to their core.

“To have something this dark and disturbing happen so close to her vacation house gives her the heebie-jeebies,” the source added. “This is supposed to be her safe, happy place.”
As fans know, Taylor has had an ongoing struggle with stalkers, some of whom have shown up at her homes uninvited, even trying to break in. With that kind of personal history, it’s no wonder the singer is feeling extra vulnerable after a grisly discovery literally in her own backyard, per NE.
According to the insider, Swift’s imagination is running wild, and she can’t help but fear the worst:
“She has a very active imagination and so of course she’s imagining the absolute worst, that there could be some sort of serial killer on the loose!”

That said, the source was quick to mention that Swift is deeply empathetic about the tragedy at the heart of it all.
