As most following his prison journey will recall, the music mogul has been incarcerated outside of Philadelphia at the FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey since his 50-month sentence in October 2025 for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Sean Diddy Combs Reportedly Taunted By New Jersey Inmate
The rapper is now reported to be under solitary confinement after engaging in a physical prison fight with another inmate. TMZ reports indicate that Sean Diddy Combs is said to have allegedly become physical with the inmate after the prisoner reportedly began taunting the rapper.
The website writes that its sources reveal that Diddy became agitated by the other inmate’s remarks, and things quickly became confrontational, leading to a physical brawl. The fight was broken up by New Jersey prison offocials, and the details are scarce as the FCI refuses to comment or give out details on the situation.
All we know for now is that Combs has been removed from his cell block and now sits alone in solitary confinement per TMZ. So what does this mean for the rapper? Combs’ release date is currently slated for February 2028, which had been moved up from April of that year. It is not clear if the reported fight will cause his release date to be altered.
Not Sean Diddy Combs First Prison Infraction
The altercation between Diddy and the other inmate is not his first infraction since incarceration. In fact, it is the third publicly reported alleged prison controversy involving the rapper since entering the FCI in New Jersey. The first took place not long after Diddy entered the facility after prison guards caught the rapper allegedly partaking in the consumption of homemade alcohol. The second incident came about in November, 2025 after Combs reportedly was involved in a three-way call with members of his legal team. Once again, prison officials never publicly confirmed the outcome of any disciplinary proceedings. Combs’ spokesperson denied that he knowingly violated prison rules.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons website states that Sean Diddy Combs’ placement in solitary confinement, also known as SHU, is used for prisoners awaiting disciplinary hearings or for their own protection. Treatment is far more restrictive than the rapper is used to. Inside solitary confinement, Combs will be permitted only one hour outside his cell. His meals are delivered to him through a slot in the door. Diddy’s access to phone, commissary, and visitations is also likely restricted. He will likely only receive basic necessities until disciplinary proceedings move forward.
So will this shut down all hopes for Sean Diddy Combs’ plans of early release? Being placed in solitary confinement won’t destroy his chances. That is unless officials determine otherwise. But either way, it doesn’t pose a good look either way.
