Sporting events are supposed to be a fun activity that someone could bring their family to for a nice day out. However, just like most things in life, sometimes that just doesn’t go as planned. Take this recently posted TikTok video for a perfect example of that very scenario. The clip has around 124K likes and 2.1 million views as these Pennsylvania MLB fans are caught up in the wrath of Mother Nature while trying to enjoy the game.
The TikTok video would start off with the person recording sitting in the outfield bleachers at PNC Park, where the Pittsburgh Pirates play. However, right away, viewers can tell something is up, and it’s not only because of the sound of the whipping wind going through this person’s phone speakers. Other fans can then be seen attempting to take cover from the wind, as belongings and countless other items get blown away effortlessly. Finally, one of the huge stadium umbrellas that fans sit under gives way to the wind as it launches towards a ton of unsuspecting Pennsylvania MLB fans.
TikTok Reacts To This Pennsylvania Sporting Event’s Windy Dangers
Unsurprisingly, the TikTok comment section had so much to say regarding this dangerous sight, as many would rush to leave behind their own thought and opinions. “No, because that could’ve actually been so bad,” pointed out one. “What in the final destination?” Asked one more. Another person then wrote, “I know everyone seems to be making jokes, but I genuinely hope everyone was okay.”
Somebody else also stated, “The park knew the weather conditions. There’s no reason to have those open.” Another also joked, “My dream is for someone to film me during a potential lawsuit.” Finally, one last person’s comment also read, “Does anyone else have an irrational fear of umbrellas poking out their eyes, or is it just me?” It would appear that many users are just wondering if everyone was okay, and they seem to be for the most part.
As the TikTok video comes to an end, the Pennsylvania ballpark umbrella can be seen sweeping across the bleachers and hitting many fans along the way. Finally, the object would clear the stands, and most likely flew off until it gets stuck somewhere. Despite the wind, it would also appear that the game is still being played, so maybe the conditions aren’t as bad as they seem on camera. At the end of the day, this could have been so much worse, and hopefully, PNC Park has learned their lesson about opening the stadium’s umbrellas in a windstorm.
