The internet has all kinds of different videos spread out across the countless social media platforms that inhabit the web. However, not a lot of them are very wholesome. Yet, with that being said, this recently posted TikTok video may just be one of those rare cases. The clip has around 1.3 million likes and 12.1 million views as this Missouri woman comes across a lost and barefoot toddler. Social media users were certainly on the edge of their seats for this one.

The TikTok video starts off with the woman recording herself walking up to the lost Missouri child as she can be heard saying, “Hi, it’s okay, come here,” in a soft and loving tone. She then asks the little boy, “Where’s mommy?” although the little man isn’t too much of a talker. The two of them would then embark on a journey in order to find this child’s home or at least his parents. However, it seems as though they were walking for some time as the little guy attempted to remember his way back.

@victoriaa_renee

Saturday afternoon, I came across a toddler walking alone on the sidewalk. I noticed there was not a single adult around this child. I checked the surrounding houses to see if any front doors were open with the hopes that somebody was watching him from the window or something… I circled the block a few times and realized he was getting further and further away from where I had first seen him. Obviously, I couldn’t just leave so I approached him and tried to let him know I was not a threat in any way. He was weary of me, which is a good thing if he were to ever find himself in this situation again but he stayed with me and stayed so calm. I knocked on a few doors, then walked back towards the spot I had seen him and after several minutes, his family came looking for him. 🙌🏼 Apparently, little dude jumped the fence and escaped Houdini style. He was so brave while he was trying to help me help him. ❤️ I’m so grateful we found his family and he was okay. I know he slept good that night! As an RBT and someone who works with non verbal autistic children; the fact that he did not speak was not an issue. I was going to ask a million questions to jog his little memory about where he came from and we were going to find our way back no matter how long it took!! #bravekids #fyp #savethechildren Edit: in regards to the many many comments.. calling the police was the absolute last option. and no, it would not have mattered what color the poor child was. I would have still done exactly what I did and helped him find his home. the video is edited to 1 minute and honestly I was probably only with the little guy for about 5 minutes before his mom and brother came running down the sidewalk looking for him. She was extremely grateful! As for the comments regarding why I recorded it; it was not only for my records(in case I didn’t find his home) but also to spread some awareness on this kind of situation. Sometimes, someone’s kiddo wanders off and gets a little too far before realizing where they are. It happens. If you were to ever find yourself in that situation, I would hope you stay calm and show some grace. I believe I was there for a reason. so again, NO I did not call the police and if I were to EVER come across a lost child again, I still wouldn’t call the police! I am more than capable of handling the situation and I definitely did not need an officer to tell me the child needs to get home safely. mmmk? ☺️

TikTok Reacts To Lost Missouri Toddler’s Adventure

The video’s caption also gives some much-needed context to this encounter as it reads, “Saturday afternoon, I came across a toddler walking alone on the sidewalk. I noticed there was not a single adult around this child. So I checked the surrounding houses to see if any front doors were open, with the hopes that somebody was watching him from the window or something. I circled the block a few times and realized he was getting further and further away from where I had first seen him.” Luckily, it was this woman who had stopped to help as “There was not a single adult around.

The TikTok comment section had a lot to say regarding this. Many would hurry to the video in order to leave behind their own thoughts and opinions regarding the matter at hand. “No. You should’ve called the cops. This needed to be reported,” wrote one. “Don’t judge too hard, those little guys are smarter than they look,” said another. One more person also wrote, “So glad you’re the one who found him.” Finally, a different commenter then said, “His face is so mischievous I just know this wasn’t his mom’s fault.”

AS the TikTok video comes to an end, the Missouri woman was finally able to track down this little guy’s mother, who seems to be pregnant and has multiple other children as well. The woman then explains that the toddler had allegedly climbed over the backyard fence and escaped. At least the child was returned safely. However, maybe he needs to be kept within view at all times.
