Grief has a way of showing up when we least expect it, and for one Missouri woman, it arrived in a completely unexpected and downright eerie way. A nurse with nearly two decades of experience says she came face-to-face with something she never thought she’d see again: her late sister. And naturally, she turned to TikTok to share the emotional moment.
In a video posted by @stellarosalife, the Missouri woman explains that she was driving along the highway when something strange caught her attention. A car ahead of her looked exactly like the one her sister used to drive. On its own, that’s already enough to make someone’s stomach drop, but then things got even more surreal. The woman behind the wheel looked just like her sister, too.
Instead of brushing it off as a coincidence, the TikTok creator did what many people in that emotional situation might at least think about doing. She made a U-turn on the Missouri highway and followed the car.
Missouri Woman Claims To See Her Dead Sister On The Highway
Her followers already knew parts of her heartbreaking story. She lost her sister in November 2021 after a battle with addiction, something she’s been open about on her page. So when she says she saw her sister’s exact old car, driven by someone who looked like her twin, it understandably jolted her.
In the TikTok, text across the screen reads: “My sister turned in front of me, driving her old janky police car. So I made a U-turn and chased her on the highway to see her face again. It was weird because my sister died on 11/27/21.”
However, the signs didn’t stop at the look-alike car or the familiar profile of the driver. As she sped up to catch another glimpse, a song came on the radio, and not just any song. It was Sleep On the Floor by The Lumineers, a track she says held deep meaning for both her and her sister. “Coincidentally, the song playing was a song that we thought was written for us.”
Once she reached the other vehicle and got a clearer look at the driver, she was stunned. The resemblance, she says, was uncanny. She ended the video with a simple, emotional caption: “It was her.”
TikTok Was Right There With Her
Viewers from Missouri and beyond quickly flooded the comments with their own stories of seeing or believing they saw deceased loved ones. Others simply expressed support, saying they believed she experienced a moment of spiritual connection.
Skeptics will chalk it up to a coincidence, but this Missouri woman isn’t questioning it. For her, the experience was a gift, a fleeting moment where she felt her sister close again.
“VEIL IS THINNING. OUR TIMELINES ARE CROSSING. IT WAS HER JUST IN ANOTHER TIMELINE,” one person commented. “This would’ve sent me into psychosis,” said another. “She exists in another time line; in another dimension and and you in hers and they both just happened to cross that day,” a third comment read.
Whatever people choose to believe, one thing’s undeniable: grief can make the world feel mysterious. And for one Missouri nurse, the highway became the backdrop for a moment she’ll never forget.
