According to the viral story, what started as a completely ordinary morning quickly turned into something that looked more like the opening scene of a bizarre movie after he walked up to his vehicle and found an unfamiliar woman sitting inside.
Even more surprising? She apparently had no intention of leaving. The California man later explained that he’d been moving items in and out of his car the previous day and believes he accidentally forgot to lock the doors before heading inside.
California Man Finds Unhinged Woman In His Back Seat
When he returned the following day, something immediately felt off. At first, he reportedly wondered if he’d walked up to the wrong vehicle. But after spotting all of his own belongings exactly where he expected them to be, reality sank in. There was a complete stranger sitting in the back seat.
Rather than apologizing or climbing out, the woman allegedly started giving him orders. Video from the encounter shows the man repeatedly telling her to get out of the car. Instead, she reportedly tells him to get inside and start it, acting as though the vehicle belonged to her. The bizarre exchange only escalated from there.
When the man insisted that it was actually his car, the woman reached for a golf club that was sitting in the back seat. She then stepped outside while holding it and reportedly became increasingly aggressive. At one point she can be heard telling him, “It’s not your [expletive] car,” while continuing to demand that he get inside and start the vehicle.
The original clip ends before viewers get to see how everything was resolved, leaving thousands of people wondering what happened next. Thankfully, the owner later posted an update. According to him, he managed to trigger the alarm using his key fob, causing the horn to blast repeatedly. He says that noise was enough to convince the woman to finally leave the vehicle.

“Those boots were not made for walking,” one person joked of the woman’s shoes. “There’s so much to unpack here,” said another. “Looks so scary,” a third person chimed in.
Interestingly, he also explained that he chose not to call police because he didn’t consider the situation a life-threatening emergency and believed officers would likely take one to two hours to arrive. The California man said the woman allegedly took only his sunglasses and nothing else of significant value.
However, he joked that the inside of the vehicle definitely didn’t smell very pleasant after the unexpected overnight guest had been inside. There was at least one piece of good news. Despite the tense confrontation, he says he was ultimately able to recover the golf club the woman had been wielding during the encounter.
The unusual California story has sparked plenty of conversation online, with viewers stunned by both the woman’s apparent confidence and the owner’s remarkably calm reaction throughout the ordeal.
